| Patina Kebab, yes, related to Patina's in Catalkoy, is really worth a visit. We went last night, had meze to start followed by the best steak we have every tasted, just melt in your mouth. Prices very good too. Situated on the road down to Oscar hotel, Karakum. The Manager Hussain and his staff will look after you very well. |

| Went there tonight. Food was better than average for a kebab house, but need to remember that it is a kebab house and not a restaurant as such. Everything went really well, until we came to coffee and brandy, which in most establishments is on the house. Surprised therefore to find that we were charged 10 lira for 2 local brandies......we could almost have bought 2 bottles for that.....and 4 lira for 2 Turkish Coffees. Up until that point we were thinking, yes, we would go back again.......but that was the turning point.....99 lira for 2 in a kebab house is way over the top. Ok we had a bottle of yakut but even that was over priced at 27 lira in that kind of establishment. Think maybe they are hoping to catch tourists from Oscars.....but what will they do in the winter when they only have us 'locals'..........well actually 2 less 'locals'. Shot themselves in the foot again! |
