Well zero I am in the process of moving to trnc in the next 3 months . I was looking at you post/ posts especially on the pool issues ( very interesting I must say.) But my point is what do you think is going to happen or what do you think they know. Maybe. In my humble opinion I was thinking things were going to get alot easier and hence the reason I /we want to make the jump so to speak.. Your opinion please..... Sorry new at this and not sure fully how the forum works as yet ( but very informative all the same) Well apart from the moaning that is .. I was always under the impression that if your not happy where you are .... THEN MOVE!!!!!!

Zero After reading the pool clening posts ( very entertaining) Can I buy zerochlor to use myself ???? I am not a pool cleaner ..I would just like a clean pool ...How much is it to buy , I was not sure if the prices on other thread were for pool cleaner or for product (zerochlor) I think it would be worth a try and like everyone else ...If it dont suit me then I can try something else...I think thats fair ...

Well somethings certainly going on, but I for one love Northern Cyprus just the way it is, If I want the big stores and western chains, I cross the border/jump on a plane then return to peace and solitude.

message 8 jinky777 Yes the prices are for monthly pool cleaning, no contracts,no 3 or 6 or even 12 months up front, with zerochlor you pay month in advance, that way it keeps things simple,i havent got 100 upwards customers money in the bank making interest, and if you dont like how i clean your pool,i can hold you to ransom for the rest of the time left that you have already paid up front for because you cannot get your money back ,so your stuck with a pitiful pool cleaner that does not know a hose from a backwash to a filter basket My way is the simple way if zerochlor cleans your pool. if you do not like how we maintaine your pool in the 1st month, you tell me,zerochlor, sling your hook, also if i do not like you or doing your pool,i tell you, please get 1 of the more incompetent pool cleaners to look after your pool That way your happy and im happy. And yes jinky777, of course you can come in the shop and buy it. Happy chlorine free swimming folks

to get back to the original topic, it will be interesting to see if it really happens and if so what prices they will charge. For example, beef mince in Nicosia is half what anyone sells it for here, do you think this will be allowed. I bought some French stewing beef there recently and it was 3.95 euro a kilo say 8tl, here in a butchers, beef is 25tl plus.

David, do you mean the Erülkü supermarket near the Ercan turn off? If so, it is a fantastic supermarket already. It would be a pity to lose it to Carrefour.

Do you really think that Carrefour would open in the north to have all their stores in the south boycotted? I don't think so, just another useless thread.

Do you really think that they would risk alienating all of their customers in the South, & in Greece, not to mention America & the rest of the World? They would succumb to GC blackmail & pressure just as every other company does. I see that you managed to slip a bit of advertising in Dave

i would doubt very much if they were - there are trade embargos in place, hence why no next, M & S etc..... there have been wispers about "wait until the end of the year" going round for years... But one thing is for sure - No one knows just what is happening, but youcan bet that the GC's will by trying to put a spanner in the works whatever is proposed....

.CARREFOUR PURCHASE: Carrefour SA has agreed to acquire Ipek, a Turkish supermarket chain with 27 stores operating under the Alpark banner. The transaction, which is subject to the approval of competition authorities, is valued at approximately 24 million euros ($29.2 million). In 2009 Ipek generated net sales of about 41 million euros. Carrefour operates 26 hypermarkets, 165 supermarkets and 675 hard-discount grocery outlets in Turkey. i heard again they trying to buy the supermarket over the mountain road

message 22. keith, yes i do think they would risk comming here with the investment they have in turkey. I was quite shocked actually when i saw what carrfour has invested in turkey. So maybe the whispers ive been hearing could come true. if so,close the borders to the south,we dont need the south anyway, new road to the karpaz, carrfour, what do we need the south for,get it closed i think, get a few more big stores here, and every 1 will be happy.

re msg 22 I don't see much signs of Burger King (that's Burger City to you and I) being globally boycotted, or Gloria Jeans. A few astute business' that already operate in the third world countries, which Carrefour do in abundence, may well be looking at the political signs.

Deniz1. Your right . But i suppose if the shopping bill is 30% less in cost per week, where would you go? But we need some 1 like them to come in to bring all the other shops in line with there prices. It is not tax here that makes products expensive. Its profit

What makes me laugh the most about this site is people know more than the government. How could any company come here yet! COULD PEOPLE JUST STOP THE LYING JUST FOR CHAT! End of year you will see LILI boring! Carrefour coming here boring! STOP IT! No big blue chip from europe would come here in there right mind unless the embargo was lifted! I forgot you know! End of the year!
