Zerochlor,

Many many TRNC Victims have a horror story to tell! I won't tell you mine, perhaps you would like to tell me yours? It could be good for the soul!

Keldanreb,

The Homes from Hell tonight is on America (Florida) to be precise, relax, only 30%? nothing to worry yourself about!

This story is hugely complicated - and has been reduced to something which is easiliy understandable but wrong in all sorts of ways. Makes you wonder about the rest of ITV's "journalism".

I'm sure your not inebriated! your obviously watching another Chanel! and I know you can read and write!

No, you more than likely don't have a horror story to tell! your a very lucky TRNC inhabitant! keeping those

swimming pools clean?

BeeKeeper (mess 8)

All Horror stories are hugely complicated, journalism is very difficult, because finding the culprits in any deception can be a nightmare, but when you find the culprits most journalists or victims keep on their tail!

Smity

Presumably you are one of the lucky ones in TRNC who bought without a problem?

I also assume that you must have PTP and title deeds?

If so,then I'm happy for you,but please don't join the "I'm alright Jack brigade".

Even if you are OK , at least have some empathy with those that aren't.

Cronos

I wasnt being Im all right jack, I spent a great dela of time and effort when making my purchase to make sure everthing was in order, i would do the same in the UK I never part with money unitll I see what I have got

Yes I am one of the lucky ones and have got all my docs sorted but come on some of the stories even thought they are not nice the buyer has been a bit gullable

But that's the problem isn't it?

You like to think that if everyone took the same "time and effort" as you, then their purchase would have been 100% safe.

This is simply not true...and you mislead potential buyers by perpetuating that myth.

No amount of "homework" can protect you in a country where there is no legal obligation for the vendor to hand over title deeds even when full payment has been made !

You prepared well but you were also lucky.....if someone had wanted to defraud you then they could have....with the full support of the "law" in the TRNC.

As I said, well done for what you've achieved, but don't brand victims of the property scams as gullible fools.

totally agree with cronos

claiming it should be: buyers dont be so soft parting with your money: tell that to the longest thread on here with the actions of Akfinans bank.

No matter how much home work that has been done and legal advise you take to do your homework you suddenly find someones been cheating to give you the answers!

Please dont add insult to injury. Even for the people who got it right getting their deeds now have problems despite not being soft and parting with their money.

some of the horror stories in spain etc havent been because buyers have been soft just a corrupt town hall and builder does it ring any bells!

Smity,

You sound like Im all right and f** the rest type of a bloke!!

DO you really think that everyone here just bought willy nilly and did not do any homework.

I checked out everything, had a good contract and were really happy until recently.

I have my PTP but cant go forward because builder was too busy enjoying the hi life in Colony Casino not to pay off his mortgage, now he is declaring bankruptcy and wants another 25K from all of us to guarrantee our deeds. So now Smity is that in your self deluded infantile mind sound like its the buyers fault!

My suggestion is for you is stick to reading (thats if you can read) the Beano etc as you do not appear to have any grasp of whats happening regarding property auctions and as rightly mentioned on threads above a long thread regarding Kulakarniz 5.

So basically if you have nothing sensible to add then do not waste other peoples time by being a self righteous pompous arse!!

you know we all bought in good faith, we trusted, we did our homework. Some were lucky and I am very happy for all my friends who have been. We are in the other camp involved in the SAGA. I never thought for one minute when we bought here, that i would be working all the hours in this heat, at my stage of my life. Now I put it done to my fate or destiny. At least I can do that I have the energy, almost. I love meeting so many people that have become friends. I never ever thought we were niave or stupid, like most we did our research. We took the gamble as all we heard was this was the place to be. Im talking 6 years ago it was boom city, the atmosphere , the people, its hard to expain but you wanted to be a part of it. Smity we cant control the bad guys here, where thier laws procrect them and not us. For gods sake we bought of an English estate agent and a geordie builder. We are not stupid people, anyone who has good or bad stories, I can honestly say are not one bit stupid. Trusting

I am alright cos I did my homework ,really means= I am lucky, I was really cra---ing it till i got title it but now I have got my deeds I am going to pretend its cos I knew to do what all the thickies didnt.

At least Smity has his deeds, its even worse when it comes from people who havent yet got their deeds or had their property completed.

Well tell us unworthy ones ,how you all prevented a mortgage being put on your land, how you guaranteed the builder would give you the deeds.

Come on, dont keep it a secret,I am sure ang1706 and the rest would love to be educated.

Smity

While not doubting you did your homework but rather doubting how much that had to do with having no problems, could you please explain how you got your title deeds and other documentation before doing 'as I would in the UK' handing over any money.

In one stroke you could save the 'no cash without deeds' movement from wasting their time calling for a reform thats not needed as you already have the answer.
