Really pleased to hear it, Carol. You might be back in the TRNC sooner than anticipated. Glad you are feeling better after your stomach upset and hope you have found that man to sort out your electrical problems.

Thank you everyone.

Local mover is coming tomorrow at 3pm to give me a quote for packing it all up and the contract gets signed tomorrow.

Jo Valentine says 3 weeks for my container to leave here, could have been 2 but that was pushing it a bit.

So where's the first party going to be, lilli's or Debbie's.

Debbie I don't think I will use an escalator again , non moving steps or the lift for me from now on.

Measey, I did meet some lovely people when I was over there and all made me feel so welcome, I only got back just under a week ago

xx

Jo Valentine cancelled, back to the drawing board for a mover

Contacted Olaytrans, Easytruck in Dubai, and Global Relocations, british run company in Dubai. No replies from any at the moment.

Does anyone, that has moved from Dubai to TRNC have any other contacts please?

Hi Carol,

Congratulations on selling the apartment. If you put moving from Dubai into the search box at the top of the page there are quite a few posts coming up so you just might strike it lucky and find what you are looking for. Good Luck. See you soon.

Hi sunshine,

Congratulations on this great news. My name is Nicolas. I know you don't know me, but I'm contemplating moving abroad one day perhaps. I thought, if you don't mind I could use this opportunity to ask you a question or two about life in England compared to that of abroad from your experiences.

What was it that made you leave England? Have you found that the quality of life abroad is better and more exciting?

Hi Nicolas,

I'm from Scotland first of all, but I won't take offence at you asking why I left England :o)

Secondly, I left Scotland 14 years ago as my husband got a job in Dubai, the lifestyle back then was very different from what it is now. We did manage to save back then but now that Dubai has grown it has become a very greedy place from most aspects, only my opinion. We have never lived over our means or been frivolous but we did enjoy our life here and knew we would never go back to UK

Sadly my dear husband died 2 years ago very suddenly and not expect after an accidental fall, Dubai has never been the same for me and since getting everything sorted in the courts here regarding our property and cars, which took over 18 months, I need to move on from here.

I choose Northern Cyprus because of the climate, the peacefulness, ambuiance and friendliness also made it very appealing, having been there, the friends I have made make you feel so darn WELCOME.

Hope that helps

Yes I remember can't believe snugglepuss did it, wait till I get my hands on her.

Global Relocations have been out and are now preparing the quote, they appear very in touch with how things are done at the TRNC and only use 3 companies that side where the agents stand over the customs people and watch everything that is taken out and put back.

I think they are going to be very expensive but I want to see everything in one piece and there, I do have one more tomorrow morning and another on Wed morning.

Thankful today was no where near as stressful as yesterday
