Hi,

We were over in June and there was work being done at the Hut, is it finished yet as we are over again soon and enjoy a lunchtime drink there.

For such a tiny place, the roof repairs are taking a very long time.

My questioning mind thinks there may be some other issues. But then I may be wrong and it does to 6 months to repair a 6 metre roof.

Heard that the belediye stopped the work as there was no planning permission. I believe they pulled the complete building down and were going to add toilets which changed the situation. I am sure someone will put me right if this is not the case.

Don't know the actual details but they started to build a new structure and then nothing happened for a few weeks and then they knocked the new structure down. Nothing appears to have happened since.

The hut will be open soon.

Building work permissions and permits are or will be all in place very soon then rapid work will commence.

Then we can savour the delights mine hosts chris and sue can tempt our taste buds with.

Sipping g & t and enjoying the views.

Hello Hattikins,

Unfortunetely, we are unable give an opening date. We are hoping it will be this summer but as the remedial work is outside our control we cannot be sure.

Basically the owner took the opportunity to try and improve the building, but due to planning constraints this was not possible. As a result many weeks have been wasted. The roof and related repair work is now underway.

As you can imagine we are extremely frustrated and disappointed for our loyal customers and will let everyone know when we have an opening date.

Stopped off at the Hut today to water the plants and some idiot had written "the Shut" on our blackboard on the pavement. Not funny. We have ploughed so much time and money into the business and we are gutted about what has happened. We do not need our fellow country men taking the micky. To think someone has actually stopped with chalk in hand to do this....How very very sad!

Hi Brandy Sour,

The Hut is situated in Lapta on the main road on the right coming from Girne just before Haci Ali Hotel.

Just in case you don't know, we had a disaster back in May when the ceiling fell in, a very near miss for me as I was working inside at the time. Got out with a few cuts and bruises.
