Can anyone tell me what the requirements are here for extensions and what happens if you build one without?

Thanks - what I was/am after is advice from anyone that has had an extension done. Did you go for permission? If so how difficult was it to get and how much does it cost. You hear so many stories here about what you should and shouldn't do I am just hoping someone will let me in on what they did.

Thanks

shel56.

Do you have your title deeds? If you don't you cannot build any extensions without them. If you do then, I would think the procedure is the same as in the UK, find an architect to draw up plans, find a builder, apply for planning permission and when you receive it, start building. I would not do anything until you have ev erything in place.

Yes we have our deeds and we have had plans drawn up as well we have a problem in that the architect that did the original plans might not sign off on the new plan for the extension which might cause us a problem, we don' know...........................
