So many negative posts on here. Thought I would just say... I love it, here Been here 5 years no complaints. I have embraced the lifestyle. Power Cuts? I laugh at them, I was 12 before we had eletricity. There's another post on here saying Brits are leaving in there droves... Great... nice to get rid on whingers.

Messages 1 and 2 - disgraceful posts. All may have gone well for you, but others have had and are now having a nightmare. Who the hell do you think you are?

I don't agree with you not all, yours is far worse. The world and the TRNC is full of gloom and doom but some of us, although we can sympathise with those in trouble, me included, it is still good to read a positive post now and again

Hold on Kaiserphil, everyone is entitled to their viewpoint arn't they? Yes some people have been badly let down and lost a lot of money, in some cases their life savings but there are others who have managed to get their properties and their title deeds. I haven't got my deeds yet but I am an optimist and hopefully we will eventually get them, if not we will enjoy our property as long as it lasts.

Yes air your views but don't send a grey cloud to the universe when the beauty is still all around . Life doesn't start or end by your personal mistakes , people just drop down dead having a beer !! Do you know how lucky you are to be living this moment?

Ailletoo,

We have been here nearly 6 years and we love it as well. Made many good friends of all nationalities including Dutch, Cypriot and American, oops nearly forgot the Brits even the odd Yorkshire man I sometimes bump into.....sorry Topten couldn't resist.

As to generalising about people leaving in their droves they leave for a variety of reasons, ill health, homesickness , or just simply they have the wander lust and good luck to them all.

What I meant by that statement is life goes on regardless of what decisions you make in life, good or bad the show goes on , If your lucky.

We are happy living here, but we do feel the pain of those around us who are in trouble and have problems.

When i see pension age people being scammed of their life savings, then i can agree with phil.

It not all rosie in the garden and if things like that don't effect you then i don't know what will?

Maybe when it happens to you??

If you don't take a risk then it won't happen to you will it? Sympathising with people for not being careful is very decent of you but it wont help them in any way.

Ailletoo, thanks for your post. Good to hear another positive voice. And being positive does not mean we do not feel for those that have had horrendous experiences.

Kibris - "oh and Kaiser Phil - who the hell do you think you are? there are plenty of whingers here! ok some have genuine greivences BUT not all of 'em!"

I think I am someone who is very concerned for those who have serious problems, and no respect at all for those who call them "whingers". I see very few of the kind of whinger you describe on here.

OK? All the same if it isn't!

We come to many cross roads in our lives, and some times some of us take the wrong fork or path. We decided on the path that led here, and we are happy. We still have no kocan, there is a memorandum on the villa, there are court cases pending but I am optimisitic that the end of the dark tunnel is ahead! Like a previous poster said, one of us could drop dead at any time - it happens!! Lets enjoy life while we have it and cope with difficulties, blackmailing ex builders, doolally advocates, no money - we've the view, the sea, the weather and friends. We've a roof over our heads even if its not "ours" legally!!!! Actually thats not strictly true, ours has just become legal - we have a receipt from the Land Registry - the one we've transferred (?!) to our son is the illegal one still, but he has a roof over his head! Once its legal then if it can be sold it will be!! And then we'll be even happier!!!!

Well! I love it here, as mamachina said we don't have a kocan yet! we have a roof, a view and struggle on a pension but we still enjoy every minute we have together. I had stopped read 44 because it was becoming so negative. Every post being hijacked by the same few with grievances or personal vendettas. This started out as a pleasant one!!! I have to go back to the UK next month to fulfil personal obligations. Do I want to go? NO! Where would I rather be? HERE! and before you ask I served my country for 27 years!
