I think that you will find that the DVD player is an integral part of the surround sound system. The DVD player will contain the amplifier, connectors for the speakers and the software that enables 5.1 digital surround sound.
The system would be useless without it unless you just want to buy 5 speakers

You may be right, but the last surround sound system I bought was meant to be plugged into a variety of media players. As I already own a dvd/Blu Ray player and a PS3 I was hoping it was a system that would be compatible with one or the other, as I know such systems do exist. |
