Our younger daughter, Alex, flew back to England from Ercan yesterday for the start of the new term today. (She's a primary school teacher). The night before she left we had a meal at Roxanne's and then went down to the harbour for drinks. Alex and her boyfriend disappeared for a while to take some photos of the harbour from the sea wall. When they came back, they were engaged .... he had done the whole down on one knee touch! Isn't Kyrenia harbour a fabulous place to be proposed to? I think it will stay in their memories for a very long time. Both families are delighted and very excited.

Hi Sheila,

Congratulations to them both, North Cyprus is indeed a wonderful setting for a proposal. Our friends and neighbours son was over last year with his girlfriend from New Zealand and he proposed to her at dawn on the Lapta coast the photograph was stunning and a wonderful memory for them both.

Also congratulations to you and Andrew will try to catch up with you both soon.

Thanks Chris. We have two daughters and have had two engagements in two months! Something tells me there are going to be very expensive times ahead!!!! Hope to see you soon.

So will they return to be wed here? I know of sweveral where the proposal happened here and the promises followed on the Island of Love. As you know there are several wedding planners here who would love tohelp, or maybe a well organised Mum could do it out of love and derive great pleasure at the same time.

It is so good to hear of good things here when so much of the news is doom and gloom. Sounds as if it has been a very loving month for you, in spite of the sweat that has abounded.

Not sure where the wedding will be. They are back in England now and back at work. Have only had short messages from them. Possibly speak longer at the weekend. Thanks for all your good wishes.
