Bought 3 packs of spreadable Lurpak yesterday and they all had a section missing about half inch across as you opened it. Just wondered if anyone else had had the same experience.

If it is still sealed then I suspect it has been stored in the case on it's side in a warm area (probably at the docks in the blazing sun) allowing the spread to melt and run to one side of the pack. It is then re-cooled and has set in that state. As it is sold by weight not volume it is easy to check if any is missing. D2

Butter is sold by weight and not volume, have you weighed it? Maybe it melted and re-settled with a "gap"!

If it has melted in the heat, then I wouldn't be wanting to use it. Once upon a time, all the butter here was 'off' when you bought it, due to bad storage.

Who the hell needs spreadable here? It's not Siberia... You can take hard butter from the fridge and in 3 minutes it's soft... Most spreadable butter is butter with added water. You are paying for water.
