Met my gardener at Tempo this morning, the KARAOGLU one. He asked weather the chicken peices they have in the freezer section, reduced to 5lira are edible. We tried asking at the checkout, to no avail.

Whilst its listed as for pets, its the same meat as is sold on the shelves in the packets. The packs are then placed in tht section at a later date.

I guess the question here is, is it packs that have passed their sell by date, but are still edible, but have been reduced, pretty much like Tesco's or Sains'brys would do, or has it actually gone off?

Has anyone ever bought it?

Told the gardener I'd get back to him, so if anyone knows or has bought it before, please let me know.

chicken is normally fresh in all of the supermarkets, ive seen them sell it off before as pet food when it reaches its sell by date, and then put them in the freezer section and freeze them to stop them stinking.

So it would seem to be OK to to make your pet ill then :-(

Have not tried the frozen chicken from there yet,

but watch out for "Specials" on chicken when you're dining out )))

I agree with Dave (zerochlor) on this one... (that should cheer him up )

Navek - dogs and cats don't seem to suffer the same gastric ailments that we do - have you SEEN the things that they catch and eat (including the green wobbly bits )?

Even in the UK, meat which would not be passed as fit for human food is used in pet food...

You made me shiver at the thought of 'chicken specials' there though! - URGH...
