| When we were there in April it cost 13tl and buses were every half hour. Takes about 45 mins, to an hour depending on traffic.

| I'd suggest you to land in Ataturk Airport rather than S. Gokcen, as it is in the same side of the city with Taksim. |

We went for the bus but we were going to Gulhane and would need to take our bags onto the funicular and trams as well as the bus so we took a taxi. Cost 85TL for 4 door to door... we could have done it cheaper but a lot of faffing about.
If you want to visit Sultanahmet while you are there. Take the funicular from Taksim square down to Kabatas (this is the terminus for the tram and so you'll get seats) and get the Tram... Funicular 1TL token. Tram 1.5 TL token (you can go all the way to Zeytinburnu and back for that as long as you don't get off). Very cheap... |

| BTW Kabatas is also where you catch the ferries that go to The Princes Islands only 3TL - 4TL a pop each way depending on which company you go with - IDO seem to be the cheapest.
