Hi we are hoping to come out to Cyprus at the end of the month and as I intend to catch up with all my friends, Big D would like to go fishing, does anybody have any suggestions of where is best to fish or if there are any trips.

Thanks KKJ

This site holds about 205 posts about fishing (sea and fresh water). You could have found them yourself using Google (window at the top of any thread) - but here they are: http://is.gd/f2MJZ

if you go to the harbour pop in to the paragliding office as they do fishing trips out on the ladyboss boat and from experience is well worth the money.

during my trip in august i courght several large tuna whilst out on ladyboss this guy knows were to fish and provided they are around he will find them.

If you want to fish from the shore, then go to any headland, or rocky area,

you will need a rod n reel. and a 3m pole.

first set up your rod, with large heavy egg float, and 4ft of line to the hook, the hook should be about 10mm across and long shank.

then tie 3m line onto 3m pole with big trebble hook on end.

now walk slowly along the headland throwing in bits of wet sinking bread till you find the shole of minows.

once you find them, throw a golf ball sized lump of mushy bread in so they gather in one area to eat it.

now cast your pole trebble hook past the shole and drag the hook thru the shole. once you get the knack you will fowel hook the minows.

now hook the minow live onto main rod and cast out as far as you can.

either let it sit or slowly twitch it in.

either way when you get a bite leave it. let the fish swallow the bait, ie count to 15 from when the egg float first bobs no matter what. make sure bail arm is off and let it take what it wants.

cont.......

after 15 seconds gently strike and gently play it back to the shore. it will be a gar fish you catch upto a meter long, they can tail walk, double backflip and everything.

good luck.

that will definately catch fish, you also have the chance of catching mineri as well

Forgot to mention it works best when the sea is really calm.
