Yes. Store it in a water tank as big as the tanker and put it through a water treatment plant as you use it.

Effectively you find evidence of lime scale when water has been heated so keep it cold (from before delivery).

Buy a softener as you cant efficiently and economical "filter" out the "salts".

fisherman, try fitting a strainer with a fine mesh surface before the pump. We did this on our site and it's amazing how much limescale builds up on the outer surface of the filter. We clean the filter about every 3 months and it is like a solid block of lime stone when the filter comes out, but is easily cleaned and replaced. You will not remove all of the lime out of the water but the filtered water is a lot better.

We have had 2 filters fitted on the main feed before the tanks .. The first one is a washable fine mesh metal filter taking out the main crap .. Washed this a few times .. The 2nd is a replaceable filter taking out the limescale .. Not replaced this yet .. The cost was £180 and they appear to be doing a good job ..

Harry & Rita Msg 5 - please check the manufacurers recomendation with regard to the replacement filter as many have a 3 to 6 month replacement date which should not be exceeded.

Limescale forms where cold(er) water meets a hot(ter) surface, i.e. kettle elements, etc.

You can inhibit the forming of limescale using a Scalewatcher or similar.
