If you happen to get caught short in Kyrenia beware the cost of going for a pee or other is 1.50 tl in the public toilets at the square so if you cant wait cross your legs!!!

I would've just popped into the nearest bar/cafe.

Never had a problem anywhere.

Zoony, wasn't implying that Dome was the only place and as Navek says never had a problem using nearest cafe/bar either - but I certainly wouldn't pay for the privilege.

If I used a toilet in a cafe/bar I would have to buy something aswell. (Not a problem). They have to pay for the water and the upkeep of the toilet.

Not fair to just use their facilities and expect it to be free.

If they know you at the cafe/bars then it isn't a problem they know you will return to buy food/drinks.

Actually, thinking about it Zoony, if you'd ever been caught short and needed to use the 'public toilet' at the top of Esentepe village (b4 Kim market) you'd be REALLY GRATEFUL of the chance to pay TL 1.50 in Girne. All I got was a hole in the ground and a hose pipe attached to a tap.....def' no toilet roll......... I'll leave the rest to your imagination!!!!!!!!!!!!

The toilets in the square in Kyrenia are immaculate and I for one don't mind paying 1.50ytl to use them.

When you got to go, you got to go and it's a long way to Esentepe to keep your legs crossed.

Legs crossed driving? You'll fit in well with the other drivers on the road!

best public loo I ever went in was in a park in Winchester. It was immaculate, had classical music playing, was scented and had lovely hanging baskets on the outside. The bloke who looked after it must have taken great pride in his work.

Hi Mike,

I have been in that loo in Winchester and as you say brilliant. There is also one like that in the Yorkshire dales but I cannot remember which village it is in.
