Please please can anyone offer poor Lucky and Brandy (Steves dogs) a home. They had to be taken to KAR Centre because there simply was no alternative within the timescale.

I don't mean to be unkind (to KAR) but it REALLY is not the place for these 2 beautiful well loved family dogs. They are family pets and they are not settling at KAR very well at all. They are unused to any type of kennel enviroment and are desperately unhappy. They have not eaten anything since being there (despite staff trying to coax them with special tidbits) They are scared stiff of the noise and all the other dogs and the whole environment. They are pinning for their owners - for their home - for everything that they have ever known that has been taken away from them.

It is so sad that through no fault of theirs or their owners these dogs are really suffering. Please if anyone can offer them a home can you contact KAR (0533 869 4098) Even if you can only offer temporary care whilst a permanent home is found.

What type and size of dogs are they? Anyone have any photos of them, all this info may help someone come forward to rehome them. x

And what has happened to the 14 cats that lived with the dogs? Have they just been turned out?

I will try and get some photos - not sure how to do it but think Keith may help.

One (Brandy) is large tan brown chunky "ridgeback-ish" ! type and the other (Lucky)is smaller brown/white pointer. They are so friendly/lovable and in such good condition but are just so very very unhappy at the Centre. It will not be long before they begin to lose their condition and staff are worried about them (physically and mentally) staying there for much longer - they are so scared and sad. KAR have not been given any of their vet paperwork yet so cannot advise on whether they have been neutered/fully innoculated.

Deniz - as to the cats - i do not know but i know when the dogs were collected (following a tel call to KAR to say the dogs would be put out on the street at the end of that day) there were several cats still at the house.

Scruff - thanks and i have replied.

Keep us posted please, both of those dogs are gorgeous. I was told they were both going to be put to sleep. The owner told a neighbour in the village that was what he was going to do. I do hope that someone can re-home them. I miss seeing the beautiful brandy when I pass the bungalow.

Linda there were still cats sitting on the verandah when I went past yesterday.

I know Steve is very ill and he cannot help his animals but i thought Sandy would have made some provision for them before she went back to the UK. Rumour has it that she left without leaving any money for their upkeep. It is so sad for these poor creatures.

Deniz1 you wrote - Rumour has it that she left without leaving any money for their upkeep, perhaps that is all it is a "rumour" and maybe it would do you no harm to find out the facts !!

I asked on a much earlier thread about 3/4 weeks ago what was going to happen to the cats and dogs. My question wasn't answered by (I think it was) Steve's son. Perhaps if he had asked on the forum, then, for help, possibly re-homing the dogs then this sad state of affairs wouldn't have arisen.

The house sale was well advertised it's a shame the dogs futures seem to have been forgotten.

Back to the point; these dogs are beautiful animals, particularly Brandy, can anyone help? We have 3 big dogs of our own so are not in a situation to do so.

Tom my son sent me this page of cyprus 44 so i could read about my dogs. it has upset both sandy and i that someone could believe that the dogs would be left with out food or water or money to buy the food. Those that know us knew we had and nonpaying lodger bryan whose duties were the excersise and feeding of the animals in lieu of rent this was carried out before sandy left and the agreement was to keep it up until the dogs were rehomed. we did what we believed was the best for the dogs and us but unfortunately the person we trusted to carry out our wishes proved to be not a very nice person at all, and has taken more than our trust from us.

As though steve tom and sandie have not got enough to cope with . maybe the 44 rumour mongers will think twice before putting 2+ 2 together knowing tha 4 is the answer but never the less ........

Why cannot we have something in place that filters out posts that contain the word rumour, it would save any amount of speculation.

Back to the top please we really need to try and get these two dogs away from the stress of KAR. I know they do a great job but these two family dogs must be terrified and depressed.

I read this thread with dismay, once again the lowest common denominator has been found with ease.

Sandy did indeed made provision for the dogs and has been let down.

Sandy, Pat has asked me to tell you that she is giving Lucky and Brandy special attention when she is working up at Kar.

They are well but looking forward to being rehomed as quickly as possible

I don't believe that anything of any value will be gained from airing this particular 'dirty washing' in public.

Perhaps it is advisable to just return to the subject in the title of the thread and try to find homes for the dogs and cats. I already have 2 dogs so unfortunately am unable to assist.

Regards

Good news!

A family who had been visiting the centre to take Brandy & Lucky for walks in the mountain have now given both dogs a home.

Well done KAR.

OH that is fantastic news. Well done to the family who have rehomed them.

I had been very worried about them as Margaret Ray told us a couple of weeks back that they hadn't eaten at all since they went into KAR and all the staff there were very concerned about them.
