i dont agree with most things the pike posts because they are biased towards one race which is not right and the best example of this is he might say in passing that the south have done a few bad things but wont go in to detail, but when talking about turkey or north cyprus he will go to great lengths to try and give a detailed version on what they supposed to have done



of course you cant say you dislike a person on his views and if you have never met him!!!

but everyone has a view and have every right to post but in no uncertain words pike will read your post and basically say your view is wrong and his view is right which is not good especially coming from a reporter

by championing the south against turkey

and the north?

Pt Pike....Don't know the guy but I do respect his rights to have a different opinion after all thats the basis of a balanced discussion forum BUT he just seems to have a slightly perverse sense of satisifaction in diasgreeing and watching the reaction of members that express anything which favours the postion of the Turkish Cypriots basic rights to exist on this Island on an equal basis with their GC counterparts in the south.....Why?????????????

That's so funny that people have mentioned Lord Haw Haw. I was only thinking this the other day. Why have I thought this? This issue is so emotional, many Brits have sunk alot of money in to Northern Cypurs, some have thrown in their lot. People are probably saying to themselves, us Brits should stick together, show some solidarity, yet there is one brit who desperately wants us to fail (I can think of one other too). Why is that one of our kin continually challenges us, and as Andre says has a storehouse and arsenal of material to throw our way.

I appreciate your support for freedom of speech. I'd expect that from a Scot. But I'm disappointed you seem to have lost sight of the fact that most decent people oppose ethnic cleansing and even worse, outsiders with nothing to do with Cyprus descending like locusts to benefit from forcibly vacated property. Were you never taught about the Clearances? I'm surprised that someone from a nation rooted in the principles of justice and fair play should express surprise at what I'm about.

So did the Turkish Cypriots not suffer at all, were they not displaced from their homes, not being awkward, just asking. And if the day ever dawns when there is a settlement how will the property issue be sorted, if everyone is given back the land they lost but is also allowed to keep the land they are living on, whether that be rented or whatever, then where will people settle ?

PS who are the trailer trash post 2003 ?

oh dear...another thread dedicated to old pikey.



I was guilty (and naive) of starting one of these a while back.

When i was new to this forum and really felt he was being treated unfairly just for having a different view.



But over time i have realised that he dosent just have a different view, his view is very anti-turkish.



He tries to say just enough to make himself look balanced, but most of the time he ends up gunning down anyone who is pro-turkish.



Some of the more longer running members of this forum have sussed him out ages ago..Wyn for example gives us good advice to just ignore him ( i should of listened to you back then Wyn!) And others have even discovered his various names on other threads.



But it simplly boils down to this...whatvever you think of Pike ( or whatever he is going by) he can make the debates that bit more interesting and challenging.



But please, lets not give him any more attention that he is already getting!



when we have people like UkTurk doing a top job of helping people out all over this forum and hasnt even had one thread dedicated to him ! lol

malice or personal insult, are for me one of the great joys of life.

We need more of it. This is a great board, and must remain so.

Why is it that single minded people are the biggest hypocrites.



Pte Pike has a strong view about events in Cyprus but is ceretainly not anti TRNC. He does see both sides but, and this is a personal view, most of the people on this and other BB's are so anti GC that they cannot see that.



I have read several comments above and on previous threads and if people could stand back and read what is written they would see their bias. To many, you are not allowed a viewpoint unless it is totally within the remit of supporting TRNC.



I have not met Pte Pike but have corresponded with him and he does have strong views but why should he not be allowed to exprexx them. What many fail to accept is that he has had a home here in Girne for a number of years. If he was as anti TRNC as some of you try to make out why does he keep that home.



No doubt Young Pike will now have a go at me for trying to defend his stand point, that is OK with me, free speech should prevail here except from many above it definitly does not.
