I always said my GC cousins in the south are a bit unbalanced. Where is APC ohps I meant Oracle to make a comment about this. Come on Oracle we are waiting for you to tell us how brave your fascist friends were at attacking two elderly TCs.

Just as well there was no wells nearby or they could have suffered a lot worse fate than they did. At least they got out of it alive.

Brief Translation. The couple came from London and were staying in TRNC. They crossed the border in their own car and went to visit Tekke. Mrs Arnavut was originally from Larnaka, so she asked to be taken to her house just to see it. On the way there they ended up in a very narrow street traveling very slowly. A GC car coming up form behind overtook them, blocked them and 4 GC men came out of the car calling them smelly Turks and proceed to beat them up. When they let them go, without reporting it to the GC police they crossed the border to Magusa and reported it there. They then went to Hospital in Magusa for treatment.

That is disgusting. Shame the TC's don't stoop so low as the GC's. ;-)

I went to pick my father up from Larnaca airport the other night. Cars kept flashing me, putting their hazard lights on etc. I thought maybe there was a problem with my lights or something so I stopped and checked. Everything was fine. All I can assume is that it was racism because of having a TC registered car.

Cliffhanger that's not funny. Just because they are called Arnavut really? That makes Yorgozlu an Albanian too. Over to Yorgozlu!

fred y you really are an ass no wonder you post on the donkey thread , because i use another forum you assume i am g/c , where on this or any forum have I been racist , it is not me that brings up people from another forum (who most here do not know) , easy to comment on cyprus from the comfort of richmond , i refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed "man "................

it is people like you that stop the possibility of a solution on this island..........

Fredo

They use the surname Arnavut most probably their ancestors were Arnavut from Ottoan era (Albanian)

I have a neighbor who's surname is Cerkez and his anestors were Cerkez (Cherkez)

Not everyone like Lurucadi denies their roots..

You are also making a mistake here...this couple is NOT Albanian, they are Turkish Cypriot living in UK.. they just use surname Arnavut for the reason i explained above..

Yes of course dearest Oracle, what ever you say my dear. The venom in your posts are so obvious and unmistakable. So when are we getting Smirni and Constantinoble back then? I forget there used to be lots of Greeks in Trabzon, perhaps you can have that one too.

Iceman, when did I deny my roots. I have no doubt that my roots go back to Venice. A Venician painter has the same surname as me. If there is any proof there it is. We used to have a fellow called Arnavut in the village and he was definitely a Lurucadi through and through.

This doesn't surprise me. We arrived at Larnaca airport recently and met our Turkish Cypriot driver and made our way to the transfer car, to find the vehicle had been clamped. The driver had parked illegally along with approx 8 other greek cypriot registration cars, but our vehicle was the only one clamped! He spoke to an official at the airport and the police were called, but they would not release the car until the 80/100 euro fine had been paid. When the police officer had gone I made a comment that this was political as no other cars had been clamped, the airport official then turned quite nasty and accused us English of starting the problems and dividing the island!

It seems the South are quite happy to take our money, but seem to hate us British. I was quite shocked by the incident.

Come Iceman do tell, who are the culprits. What about forumers who paste links to other forums from this one to let them know who say what on this forum. Talk of stalking, some people should get life and not spent too muc time on bi-forums.

I thought this thread was about the poor couple who had been attacked, not the identity or ego of certain members of the forum.

It was a despicable act and hopefully the culprits will eventually be caught, what chance of a united island when such mentality still exists.

ttoli so much agro towards me it has to be oracle. There is no other possibility. If she was the same as in the other forum here she would not last a day. But it is also interesting that she may also go by the name of Glyn. It is also interesting in that she tells her buddies GR and the other racist fascists in what I say here. Why would apc gang up against me unless she is one of them.

FYI dearest apc/Oracle/Glyn, I do not mention names. It can't be helped that I have a donkey and a dog that is called GR and another donkey and bitch that are called Oracle. Is that mentioning names, I ask you ? what are you on? Can I have some?

I can assure you all that, the couple mentioned are both 'born and bred CYPRIOTS'.However,I must admit my mum had a good chuckle over them being 'Albanians.

Personaly,I am gutted for the fact that they did not report the incident to roc police, but at the same time cant blame them either as the poor man most probaply just wanted to get the hell out of there to SAFETY.

slight change of a subject;

Copming back from Larnaca airport you'll see this sign,

"WE DEMAND TURKISH TROOPS AND SETTLERS OUT OF CYPRUS"

I went to Ledra street today for my Turkish COFFEE and had difficulty to see any Greeks,Thais or whereever they are from are everywhere, and I mean evreywhere, even in the coffee shops drinking Turkish COFFEE.

I wander why they are there all the way from the other side of the world!?

"Girne is not for sale" - strange I did not realise we were trying to buy it.

In August 1996, Greek Cypriot refugees demonstrated with a march against the Turkish military-occupied section of Cyprus. The demonstrators' demand was the complete withdrawal of Turkish troops and the return of the refugees to their homes and properties.

On 11 August of the same year, a Greek Cypriot demonstrator, Tassos Isaak, crossed into the buffer zone, but came face to face with Turkish counter-demonstrators and was beaten to death.[3]

Getting back to the original post ................................

I think it is worth remembering that incidents like this one are very few and far between. Please don't let the actions of a mindless few tar the majority. The fact that thousands of TC's cross into the South on a daily basis and are able to return trouble free is a far more accurate indication of the 'relationship' between GC's/TC's than the odd isolated incident.

LaptaMike - Msg 11

I had a similar experience going to Larnaca port to pick up friends off a cruise in my North plated car. I was about to lose my rag when I realised that just around the corner there was a policeman with a handheld speed camera - the guy was trying to get me to slow down as warning. At the traffic lights he pulled up alongside me, smiled and put his thumb up. Things are not always as they may seem.

Yorgozlu, only and I mean only Oracle has such venom towards me and is obsessed with grammar. She once wanted to have a debate with me whether I should have used the word "of" or "from".

As to the two men that crossed the border and got killed? we've had this argument with her many times on the other side. When they crossed the border in the manner that they did, did they really expect red flowers? They new they would get killed and sought it. People with mental disorder can seek to be hurt and need help to cure themselves and not be brainwashed by Oracle's friends the the New Dawn movement. The GC black Shirt fascist movement.

The best way to treat Oracle here and the other side is to ignore her. She may actually seek some help from Dr GR like she did in the past.

Although the treatment does not seem to be effective.

It was an isolated incident conducted by small minded bigots - they exist in all walks of life and on every continent.

Why shouldn't the couple have been on 'that' side ? As TC's or holders of British passports, they have every right to travel on 'that' side.

As for the picture that you refer to. I agree, whoever perpetrated that atrocity was an animal, but atrocities occurred on both sides of the divide. Don't tar the majority for the acts of a minority.

Even to a complete idiot viewing the pathetic translation it is obviously rubbish. All you need to see is that the translation says part of the story took place on "the albanian border". Have this couple got a car or a very fast boat?

I can remember quite a few posters here being not so nice to Greek Cypriots who came to the TRNC to look at there land.

There are good and bad in all races of people.

In six years here we have only ever experienced one problem in the Roc. We cross at least once a week, anyone could have a bad experience and that could be anywhere in the world. This is being blown out of proportion.
