Did anyone hear fireworks and police sirens in the early hours of Sunday morning in the vicinity if Cratos Hotel? Or are the two incidents not related?

And your point is? did it cause a problem? you posted at 22.45, not late for fireworks? busy area so police sirens could be in the area? dont really see the point of your post?

Lapta2. And your point is? So Lady Velda got the time wrong, so what. Anyone living within a few miles of the hotel heard the firework display and the police sirens at 1.45am Sunday morning - well out of court. She asked if anybody knew if the two events were linked. I would also like to know the answer. As you live in Lapta you obviously have no useful impute, so why the negative comment - or better still why did you comment at all?

There is much too much nasty sniping on this site of late, lets hope it gets back to normal once the summer is over and the half dozen or so GC's from the Cyprus forum bugger off again.

On saturday night/sunday morning there was a huge firework display at 12.40am, I assumed (rightly or wrongly) that it may well have been for the end of Bayram celebrations but I thought the island was being invaded as it was so loud.

Then last night the music was so loud you could not go to sleep.

So in answer to your question, yes we did hear it but have no idea where it was coming from as I was too lazy to go and check it out.

Maybe Zerochlor, but not at 12.45, starting all the dogs off barking, not ours, our TC neighbours. We are just up the road from them and we awoke and thought something had exploded, sounded and looked as though the whole lot had been set off together.

We live in Ozankoy and my wife mentioned fireworks at around 01:45, I slept through it, no idea about the sirens though. The singer was a famous Turkish singer called Tarkan.

That explains the noise, I had a feeling it was something to do with celebrating Bayram.

It is such a shame that people seem to have to complain about everything, well done to the Cratos that's what I say at least they are making a positive contribution to the economy of the North.

i was told it will be a free concert Ayse1.

cyprusairsoft1,

come on cyprusairsoft,a little music does not bother me,ive got malpas hotel behind me,shayna in front, also mansion, also soyz bar, i couldnt care less about the music,i enjoy it,people are making a living, working hard to earn money, because i do not moan does it make me immature.

im very mature in my place of work and service to my customers.

in cyprus44 i take it all with a pinch of salt and try to enjoy some of the mundane postings of constant moaning and bickering, and i try to make a little humour of it all.

Weekend gone was the holiest holiday in the Muslim calender, a 3 day holiday after fasting. So fair play to the Cratos!

Lets hope fireworks on New Years Eve go on till 5am!

Measy, its a celebration after a month of fasting, i.e. when its over, a celebration...

Fireworks are seen as a form of celebrating...
