Signed, thank you for bringing the petition to my notice.

I noted with some satisfaction that the trappers nets were sought out and confiscated by soldiers last year following a clever bit of observation work. Let's hope they keep up the good work.

Hello all

Just to say that the article refers to the illegal trapping of birds in the South. However that does not mean to say that it does not occur in the North, just not on the same scale nor in the same organised manner.

If anyone is interested in helping to protect wild birds in Northern Cyprus please contact me or Kuskor ( The North Cyprus Society for the Protection of Birds and Nature)

my email is marancos@metu.edu.tr

and that for Kuskor is ( currently, although a new web site is being designed)

kuskor @gmail.com

Please sign the petition anyway!!

Groucho/MartinM - thanks very much for your input re. this perennially needless slaughter.

Those reading the petition 'comments' section may concur with Heaton Craig's assessment.

Sorry, 'Tinkie', your message wasn't posted when I pressed the 'Post Reply' button - so, thank you, too.

You know I know you are a true animal lover, so let's call it 'pax' re. our recent 'altercations'!

Can I sign it excluding the noisy dirty flying rodents known as pigeons causing huge amounts of problems around our part of Bahceli?

The pretty little things that drink at the edge of our pool are worth protecting but I would pay good money to anihalate pigeons.

The Cyps obviously think that 'four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie....' are a delicacy worth decimating the environment for.
