saw them ONCE but can't remember where ;-) Think it might have been starling. I think I saw a post from Lilli saying that she gets them from Ileli.

Yes we have got excellent fresh Swede and Parsnips in the last month at Elelli, we blanched some and froze them.

Last year i grew some from seeds (seeds came from uk). They grew well and tasted good, had the first one with my xmas dinner, yum. Maybe you could try growing a few.

japeal, when do you need to plant them here to have them ready for christmas? Got the seeds, just unsure about when. The instructions on the back are for UK weather.

I have seen them in Ileli as well as parsnips and last week Blueberries! If you ask them I think you will be pleasantly surprised as they seem to get in whatever we have asked for, within reason of course.

There is a root vegetable Beyazsarmak available here, it looks like a turnip wrapped in a bandage. Which is funny because the name seems to translate as white bandage.



It cooks and tastes just like swede without the orange colour.

I planted them about this time last year and they were ready for xmas, i planted 2nd batch 6 weeks later. hope this helps, good luck
