At last, with the help of my faithful blueshound, 'Google', we can be sure of the line-up of the 'Blues Efestival' at Jasmine Court on Monday 11th October

Kenny Neal Band -www.myspace.com/kennyneal -Louisiana Swamp Blues -Born in Baton Rouge, he cites influences as Slim Harpo, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker. Won WC Handy Award ('Blues Oscars') for Best Album 2005. Great live!

Mitch Woods and Rocket 88 - New York born, he's a pianist/vocalist in the jump-jive boogie tradition (Louis Jordan-ish) with a touch of New Orleans...a great character with good communication ..should be fun!

See http://www.mitchwoods.com

Samuel James - http://www.sugarsmallhouse.com young acoustic bluesman making a real name for himself. Has been nominated as Best Acoustic Artist and for Best Acoustic Album (2010) -I haven't seen him live but have the two other acts and they're both top..top, acts!

See you there!

Last and previous years the tickets were always available from Deniz Plaza. Cannot remember any other outlets although there were at least two others but they sell out very quickly. Efes do not appear to have set a price yet for the tickets so as soon as I find out I will post on here.

Last saw Mitch Woods at the Monterey Jazz festival a good 15 years ago, worth the price of admission alone

It seems that 'Poztif Productions' based in Istanbul received the EXTREMELY prestigious 2010 'Keeping the Blues Alive' Award in Memphis Tennessee last January for their work in organising the Efes Blues Festival. Ahmet Ulu is the guy behind it, it seems ....
