Andrew Flintoff has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.

The all-rounder had not played since the fifth Ashes Test against Australia at the Oval last summer - a match England won to regain the Ashes.

I'd suggest getting out a little more and cutting down on watching one foot in the grave

We are talking about a drunkard yorkshireman who couldn't throw his ball straight if he tried never mind playing sport. What is cricket?

As to one foot in the grave, was there a show called that, you really watch too much TV.

In the manner of Sir Ian Botham, Andrew Flintoff was a magnetic attraction for England's cricket supporters - and one of the most respected opponents across the globe.

Out on the field, Flintoff gave it his blistering best

While his batting was often a joy to behold, it was the bowling that will be remembered longest - roaring in at full tilt, bowling with hostility and aggression and sending down those thundering yorkers.

Yfred, why bother commenting on what you clearly don't understand? Have you ever played cricket? 'Throw a ball straight' what would be the point?

You probably need to have played to understand the dedication, concentration and physical effort needed to make a mark in a sport where you stand (possibly for days) and try to beat a man bowling a ball at speeds reaching 100mph who is trying to out-fox you by bowling balls that bounce, bend, spin and break. Straight... bowlers get punished... big time.

YFred,

I think you'd find it a tad too difficult for you...

It's not my fault. When they mention the silly mid off or night watchman, I burst out laughing and I can't stop.
