are tourist numbers down this year does anyone know? Hotel occupancy rates , visitor numbers etc... also heard a nice new hotel opened up the other day with guests including the former Miss TRNC`s attending the launch. is it the one you can see on the left as you drive on the coast road thru Catalkoy??

Hi Red snapper welcome to the forum. Not sure about occupancy rates but it's been mooted on this forum that the majority are only 10% full. I think the hotel you're talking about is the Malpas which has been open a while now and is lovely.

Hi there, wow only 10%.. how do they survive? must have confidence in the future to buck the business trend. i went to the malpass at easter and it is brill but the other i saw under construction(a big grey lump!) was nearer to girne past catalkoy on the beach....

same with the korineum, absolutely superb but only a handfull of people there at any one time. ate there with family last august~peak season~and only us and one other group there!

15% max on the hotel trade unfortunateley.Expensive flights,tourism board that couldnt organise a P*** up in a brewery.No direct flights.Greek propaganda regarding landing at Larnaca then crossing the border to the "dark side"its a real shame because its a gorgeous place,

too true mate trom a fellow yorkie!! no way do i want it like when i lived on the costa but how long can these fantastic new ventures go on like this. they must all think somethin`s round the corner, somethin` positive...
