There is a guy in Lefkosa called Stone Art. Imports beautiful fires from France and will fit also. Found him in Living magazine. http://www.livingmagazinecyprus.com

We just had ours fitted this week by Akinlar and i have to say all credit to them, they came when they said they would, finished in 1 day and done a great job.

I know Mustafa went to Turkey on wednesday for an operation but the office number is 0392 8151007

Have to back up Teresa's reccomendation they did a fab job for us as well, prices from £400 fitted for 12000 output, 20000 output starts at about £580 fitted from memory, depends on how swish you want to be, hope this helps

thanks everyone, have had Alkinlar to price the job but we wanted log burner with back boiler so we could run central heating off it and he didnt have the expertise to install the system,Ray from Greenium seems to be the only one able to fit but trying to get him to do it is a different matter

Does anyone have an idea as to how much it would cost to fit a wood burner in a ground floor apartment ?

Is it possible to fit a wood burner if you haven't got a fire place or chimney? Think I've heard some were that they can put the stack through bedroom and through roof, therefor heating bedroom as well.

Hi Brend,

You don't need a chimney to fit a wood burner, we had one installed last year and it just sits in the corner of the room and the flue goes out through the wall behind the stove. Our neighbours does go up and out of the ceiling but we live in bungalows. I cannot see a problem putting it up and through the bedroom as well and then up through the roof. Just means a lot of pipe to buy.

Thanks for confirming. Did not realise how cold it could get until we came over in March last year and had to buy a calor gas fire. I believe the wood burners are one of the best ways of heating, so I think we'll invest.

Try giving this guy a call. I don't think he can help with back boilers but wood burning stoves he can do.
