The police has arrested 5 men in London (streetcleaners, non-British, possibly from Algeria) for planning an attack on the pope (visiting the UK at the moment).

RE msg 3, Amerillo: My friend, you obviously missed the posts by moderator No1Doyen, who explicitly explained that ANY post about ANYTHING in this world must be possible on C44.

Amerillo

Lots of things posted on here have nothing to do with the TRNC/Cyprus but are interesting non the less. Dutch Crusader was just giving us some news which many of us were not aware of.

I know it annoys some people who think we shouldn't post non-TRNC items but instead just read them on the BBC etc... but if we only did that we wouldn't be discussing these items on this forum would we... unless we all log on to the BBC and post comments... it just would not work.

Have a broader view, not just UK and TRNC... there's the whole world out there!

Why do we need Algerian street cleaners when there are so many UK residents out of work?

But how many of the UK residents want to clean the streets?

Pity they wernt going to kill him, they would have done the world a service.

They should have hung him untill dead from the nearest lampost when he arrived at Edinburgh airport for aiding and abetting child abuse.

Just for the record the vast majority of Scots are seething about the Popes visit{only 17% of the population are catholic} the rest of us are anti-catholic, this is the land of John Knox after all.

Karakum5c;

I suggest you get out your fife and drums then get yourself back to Ibrox where you can be among your own sad people.

Moderators;

Are you really going to permit/condone filth like this?

Pity that 83% of any population are anti-anything ...I imagine they're not anti-alchohol, despite John Knox.

Should have been closed down and banned long ago. As one of the 83% (don't believe these statistics)

I enjoyed watching the great welcome given to the spiritual leader of billions all over the world.

They are not all stupid, even though I don't agree with many of their beliefs. Bigots we have still, unfortunately and their prejudice has nothing whatever to do with child abuse.

Nice one Phyllis;

obviously the Rab C Nesbitt who advocates hanging the Pope would be happier marching through Rutherglen, Blantyre, Paisley, etc with his wee bowler on.

Bigotry on either side is a blot on us all, no place for it here.

Knew of a man who decided to get fit and 'accidently' cycled through Croy from Kilsyth wearing a Rangers shirt on his way to work... he was nearly stoned to death. Kids rushed from their houses and threw half bricks at him!

On arrival at work, he recounted his experience with a certain bewilderment... he didn't know that Croy was a Roman Catholic village. He never did that again... True story only to balance the argument about bigotry.

The argument about bigotry doesn't need to be balanced

It's plainly wrong and is food for the neanderthals of whatever creed in society.

By the way; more people attend RC church in Scotland then all the rest combined.

Something to do with all the Poles in the country.

I have to say that my nephew's Polish wife in SCotland does not go much - she was

'touched up' by a priest in Poland when she was very young, and it rather put her off!

"The argument about bigotry doesn't need to be balanced"

Well it seemed like the posts were pointing at Protestant bigots in Scotland and the Bhoys get up to it too...

BTW I'm neither... just an observer.
