theres a small pet shop in alsancak village, a few doors down from Dolphin takeaway. He normally has finches and a few cockatiels.

Best pet shop I've seen was in Girne. If heading from Karalongalou thru the centre of Girne, straight over all the roundabouts, its on the right just before the traffic lights that are before the Pia Bella/Karakum roundabout. Got loads, cockatiels, ring necks, had a grouse, finches, budgies. They do kittens and puppies too.

The cockatiels they have are trained or untrained, obviously more expensive for the trained but I found the untrained ones to be more friendly.

There is a man on the Wednesday market in Girne who sells finches, budgies and cockatiels. I personally don't like to see birds caged or in fact any animal. After going on Safari in Kenya many years ago and seeing all the beautiful animals in their own free habitat I have not visited a Zoo or circus since but I do understand that some people like to keep caged birds, reptiles, spiders etc.

Passing through Ozankoy village this morning there is a small resturant [looks just like a house] facing the sports club and square, small shop next door to it.They had a sign selling cockatiels and something

else, just couldn't see the last bit of writing, maybe budgies and finches. If you know anyone up that way ask them to have a look.

msg 13 Totally agree wouldn't keep a caged bird and don't understand who else would want to. Same applies to goldfish in those awful tiny bowls. may the owners change places with their pets in the next life eh?
