Is it anybody's experience that on communal sites expats pay maintenance charges and 'locals' dont, and whot can be done if thats the case, My friend lives in a small complex and theres three locals on it who dont pay a penny (lira) everybody else subsidises them.

Have heard there might be more have anybody else experienced this ??

Theres a group of 18 apartments at Karaman with commonual pool and i think 15 are owned by expats who pay maintenance money the other ones are owned by locals who they cant get any money out off, it isnt fair but they seem to be snookered unless they take costly legal actions

Snap! In our complex of 17 apartments getting maintenance money out of the locals is like drawing teeth! There are also 4 Russian owned apartments (sold on by Brits) and they are even worse but they are the first to complain about anything.

Hi tamand,

We must be very lucky because the TC pay on our site, although if they didn't they can't get water so that could have something to do with it.

I think this is down to what was written on the origonal sales agreement.

Hi, we are also having problems, at first all five of the apartments in our block were English owned but then one was sold to Turkish Cypriots who although very nice people when it comes to paying towards the communal pool/garden etc., they seem to think they shouldn`t have to part up even though they have numerous amounts of friends/family who regularly swim in the pool, yesterday they asked me why the water was turning green I explained that they were the only ones who hadn`t paid their share towards the bills and finally someone came up with the money albeit a month late! The block next door to us also has the same problem with one person refusing to pay any money and insisting his tenants when they move in won`t be using the pool or the garden so their is no need for him to contribute. I`m certain that all the owners here had it stipulated in their sales agreements that payment goes 5 ways but as people sell up and new people move in the problem is getting worse. Lesleyb

Its a very common problem even if you succeed in a court case you never get the money. If we do not get any more money soon we may have to close down our pool. What does that do for property values then? It is so short sighted by some owners.

Lazy days .

Maybe you should have a word with Lynx they are making great strides in encouraging owners to pay.

I think it has a lot to do with good management skills and good customer service .

Maybe they can advise your friend on how to encourage these locals to pay. I presume your friend has a good management company as we all know there are a few rubbish ones out there . Hope this helps !!

Maybe this would be a legitimate reason for a developer to withhold transfer of Kocan (until all maintenance fee's are payed including interest !!)

Sorry cooper was typing my mess at the same time, the development that woman is on are doing that anyway so thats ok

my point is she banged on 2years ago because she wasnt happy her mails were not being ansered she accused the then m/c of every possible thing yet things were being done and yet now with a new m/c and higher fees the plaice is worse she is not saying a word just slavering on and having a war with l/d we all have 2 get this sorted and soon.

She just says to l/d that lynx could advise how to encourage locals to pay and yet lynx have mostly locals none paying on the site she is talking through her ar*e about in fact she needs to look closer at the accounts if she knows how to read them then get off it and help do summat about it !!!!!!!!!

Some peeps keep showing their ignorance of the english language, doubtful

And what has message 15 to do with the topic

Yes tamand there will be a lot who are being easily hoodwinked by these 'professional' companies, those who need to wake up and smell the coffee, does ANYONE ever notice how pipie NEVER addresses any of the issues being discussed, just comes in with little digs and inuendo, its as if she is wandering around in cloud cuckoo land with a blindfold on as the complex she has invested in struggles to get going again.

Tamand I appreciate your concerns about your complex and I know many of the issues are ongoing, how would it fit if I gave you the same advice pipie gave nearly two years ago, 'if all is not in situ dont pay'

As for message 10 sorry but someone seems to have crossed their wires as well as other things, I think you will find it was the originator of this thread who was asking about 'locals not paying'

To be honest I blame the management companies who took over these sites that were clearly unfinished . These management companies should have stood their ground with the developer . Instead the owners were then set up to accept sites that were not finished to the standard that what was promised .

In turn no contract service level agreement what put in place but un happy owners were expected to just pay up .

The management companies who originally took over management of these unfinished sites then move on have simply left owners stitched up in my opionion.

Some locals and foriegners know their obligations, and in cases were there is no contract of obligation is in situ non payers assume they have no legal obligation to pay . Just my views here !!!

Pipie you talk so much sh1te, its runnig all over the place, the present management coy took over a site that is clearly unfinished yet you sing there praises to anybody that listens to your slavers, and you pay maintenence, you know whot I am so glad you feel you have been stitched up, you deserve it we can all see whot your agenda has been all along, nothing to do with making a better place for all on TQB, just you trying to stick the knife into the last m/c, or to be more accurate greig the financer of the thing cos he told them to poke it & walked away leaving the other people involved to run it, but they couldnt without his money, now he's sitting laughing at you enjoying his life and i for one dont blame him.

You are still a unhappy owner who cant let there investment pity but just whot you deserve just my views here as well !!!

Tam

trouble is you cant converse just spout, you know as do most other people your arguments is dead in the water

Answer 1 triple bareled question then, only 1 with a simple yes or no re TQB.

A/ Did you say to folks not to pay maintenance for an unfinished complex

B/ Do you now consider the complex finished

C/ Do you now pay maintenance

No elaborations just answer yes/no for once, or is that too much to expect

Then mebee we can get on with helping to get the plaice sorted

Mess 17

in this case you are sooo right

Mess 20

You are incapable of rational debate or rational conversation, you are privately very unhappy about the condition of TQB and have voiced this in certain quarters, however you are not about to admit to it on here as it would show you in a bad light and it would undermine your own perceived standing

Mess 22

methinks you will wait a long time.
