just why are so many people being killed on the roads in trnc ??



do drivers get in their car drive and think Insallah they can drive like loons



or are they just totally incompetent ?

It would appear that the majority of the accidents occur due to speeding. What does surprise me is the number of accidents that occur that only involve one vehicle, this would suggest that as well as excessive speed, drivers do not pay the due attention that is required (use of mobile phones etc whilst driving ?).



Poor roads, poorly maintained vehicles and a generally poor standard of driving all contribute to the statistics.



Yesterday I was out cycling and just outside Catalkoy overtook a local on a moped going slowly down a hill, as I overtook him I noted that he was on his mobile phone, steering with one hand whilst going over speedbumps and had a young girl (max age of 5) stood up with her hands on the handlebars - and we wonder why accidents occur !!



You couldn't make it up.

I do think its such a waste of life and the grief thats left with their familys. The driving tests and the laws need to become more stricter. anyone caught speeding,drunk,or driving without care need to be hit more financially, have points put on their licence,or even lose their licence.insurance should also be doubled for anyone who has committed an offence. i am told that if anyone has committed an offence it only comes out when they renew their insurance so that could take up to a year.there needs to be a department where people can deal with these offences and send out fines to the offenders.Also, i am wondering, Do these speeding camera's actually work?ive never seen one flash.how can they take pictures at night.

Speeding and incompitance. They just get in their cars and drive. The police should be out there with their speeding devices to catch anyone over the speed limit. But where they all!!!!
