Get deported, that will sort all of your problems. Mind you may have to pay the British Consul back but I am sure that they can wait for their money.

Dan,

I commend you. You are 19 and standing on your own feet. I wish you good luck, do have to ask though why you are in TRNC? I am not back there until 9th October and I have a few jobs that I could have for you then if you are still there.

Any ideas what rates you will charge ? Or is that told in private? I ask because the man of the house here is a little poverty stricken and although there are jobs he cannot do himself, he is not sure he can play anyone else to do it. I would do it myself but I am what the world would commonly call a 'Bodger' which means the job needs putting right after I have put it right.

You all need to grow up and get a life.

Dee,

did you think AJ's repsonse to Dan's request was other than "smart assed"... because I don't, but hey who am I to judge... All I was trying to do was keep Dan's post up the top so he would get some help...

Just lighten up a little and read between the lines...

Bernies

'how does one get deported from turkey and where to ??'

It really is quite simple, you get deported back to your homeland and that is stated on your passport. You might have to end up paying the bill but you will get there before you have to pay anything. Ask the Petches. My advice was given in good faith despite the usual snipers having a go.

Seriously dandd3 if you want to go back to the UK and you do not want to return then that may well be your best option. Mind you knowing what I know about the present situation regarding work permits for expats then you are likely to get deported anyway because you will not have a work permit and you should not be advertising for work on this board as you are leaving yourself open. Shall we just say that the TRNC government take an interest in this board.

If you want to get deported from Turkey, go up to a flag pole but do not cllimb it, what ever you do, just look at it and do what ever comes natural. Now don't forget do not climb you hear?

Ask Lilli! She takes in stray dogs feeds em, and she's a one woman charity as well.

Just wait 'till next year when her business is up for sale (again), she'll be flying back to Ireland and can put you in the hold along with her 'other' strays.

Pity then they don't do something about all the injustices some of the expats are having to endure.

Krypton, he's only asked for some casual work... He has not asked for handouts. Fair exchange is no robbery.

AJ says the TRNC Govt take an interest in this board.... oooh err. That's one ex-pat thing we can quote them as taking an interest in... but seriously how they would be able to home-in on some short-term casual labour from an arrangement made via contact through this board is beyond me... or will they arrest all lads called Dan? If that's his real name....

Have you tried contacting the British Colsulate in Nicosia with assistance . I would also visit the Turkish Embassy. Say that your in financial difficulty and you need to get back to the UK. Turkish Airlines is partly gvernment owned and if your really desperate do speak to them. If all that failes

I also would recommend you writing to Pegasus and Atlas Jet Airlines explain your situation and maybe be abled to help once you arrive in the UK. Have you made arrangements when you arrive in the UK, in terms of accomondation etc..

I would say no chance as I have worked for all airlines in cyprus and seen worse situations and if they can't pay they can't go unless somebody else is willing to pay for them, no chance otherwie. He can still give it a try, nothing to loose.

I always travel that way! Usually get a free upgrade to business class into the bargain... when I get to Heathrow I tell them my story to Hertz and get free car hire too... Got to go now, my pants are on fire!

Good luck Dan.

Dan,

Do not under ant circumstances voluntarily get yourself deported, and a few lesser educated people might suggest. Firstly the offence to get deported might initially involve a prison sentence, and secondly, anyone deported from any country has a stamp in their passport to say so, and it is also logged at UK imigration. There are many many countries around the world who if you have been deported from another, will not grant you entry, hardly something a 19 year old who will likely travel in the future will want.

Don't fall into the trap either of thinking that because TRNC is not recognised, it will not matter, it will.

Sorry to get a bit personal here, Dan, but how come you are here as a 19 year old needing money to get out. Where is your family? What kind of visa do you have? If you have a 90 dayand it is up, then you are in trouble unless you get youyrself a residencfy visa, and obviously you can't because you have no money etc. Don't you have anyone back in U.K you can turn to? Who do you have out here? Just you, at the age of 19? How long have you been here?

Yes, I know it is very personal, but it all sounds a very lonely path that you are treading, and as someone said, have you made arrangements for when you get back to u.K. Where will you go> Where will you live? Surely it is not enough to have the £100 or so to get back. How do you get from the airport? I am sure there are a lot of people on this Board who are thinking the same as, and that is not being cynical. It just seems sad that a 19 year old has no one to help. Your fare home surelyis not enough to put you back into REAL life.
