What's wrong with us Brits ... letting our hair down and having a good time. At least we're not stuffy. We know how to ROCK! We did put the GREAT in Great Britain - let us not forget.

Drinking not a problem: Drink, get drunk fall down, no problem Seriously, the UK is not the only country to have this problem, I have been all over the world and seen the same, if not worse, but when it happens in the UK, it gets advertised more, as the old saying goes, "people in glass houses should't throw stones.

Just look around at the resorts that largely British people have tried to destroy. Ibiza, Majorca, Faliraki, most of Corfu, Aya Napa to name but a few. The local people in these places detest everything about people from UK, except of course the money they can scam out of them in their drunken parties. There is enjoying yourself and there are British people making idiots of themselves. Said it before, go around Girne harbour and pick out the Brits, not hard to!!!!!

My opinion, They should be arrested and charged, then their passports should be taken from them for five years. I am still proud to be British, and when we are guests in other countries, we should act appropriatley. Grumpy old man? Havind said that.....there is nothing finer than a couple of G&Ts after a day at work, or in the sun. Then an evening on Effes with convivial Company. Then the occaisional bottle of wine with friends. Oh to hell with it! We probably do drink too much! Thats life I suppose. wyn

Surly it is a very real problem when British people themselves dont like going to certain places because....ITS FULL OF BRITS! I have lost count of the number of British peole i have met that say they are ashamed to be British when they see the behaviour of some of their fellow people. I think tarring all Brits with the same brush is unfair, its that group of people, also known as 'chavs' that have ruined the reputation of British people abroad and unfortunatley at home in the UK too. Repro.

went to france several years ago with work colleges, three of them were drunk when we got off in france, one fell over and smashed his face, the other two were sick all over the pavement. i felt truly sorry to be english.when they were sober you could`nt get better work mates.it comes as no suprise that the french and others look at the brits on holiday with disdain.

I agree with all (most) of the comments made here. However apart from being a nation of "Boozy Brits" - don't we have a reputation as being a hospitable nation? Are we a caring nation? Don't we welcome tourists to our country and make them feel at home?

Watty, We are known for Black Country hospitality, and conviviality. As Ni1Doyen says we have welcomed tourists for years, yet we have never felt a need to let the side down. I blame the youth! Pay them less, and work them harder! Hope to see you 24/9 at The Ship for a little quiet hospitality. wyn

Cyprusishome, Sounds like you don't like the brit's " as you put us", if you don't like us then don't look, also sounds like you have an axe to grind, everybody is entitled to their opinion, do not tar all with the same brush

One point to add, "I will never be ashamed to be British" I may be ashamed of some of the things the British tourists do when they go on holiday but open your eyes to the rest of the nationalites!

I think you should all ways be proud of your country, just because some idiots make a prat of themselves, the country is not too blame it's the parents who bring the kids up. How many forum members have had problems with there kids ? People of my age were taught to repect elders respect values respect themselves. THATS THE CRUX the word RESPECT has gone out of the english language.

playfulness, fun and a sense of mischeviousness helped through alcohol is fine, alcohol igniting anger, inconvenience and harm to others is to be frowned upon. There is a line, stay one side and enhance the reputaion of the Brits as fun loving people , cross it and damage our image you pay a high price.
