Hi,

If anyone is selling any English Dictionaries, a Thesaurus and an English to Turkish Dictionary, please let me know.

Pocket editions are also fine, don't have to be hardbacks.

Hi Goonerboy,

I have hardbacks - Concise Oxford English Dictionary 2nd edition and a Concise Oxford Thesaurus 11th edition. They are both brand new never used as I also have the 'Little' versions which I use the most.

They weigh 1.4kg each though and measure 16cm x 24cm x 6cm so they may be a bit too big if the kids need to carry them to school.

You can have the pair for £25

Hi,

Thanks for coming back to me, unfortunately they are too big as they will be taken to school too!

The little versions would be perfect

We have two types of Turkish- English books at 17.5 and 22 tl. The little Oxford Dictionary and Thesaurus may need ordering from UK and will cost around £9. I would try to source it locally first.

IF anyone has any they'd like to sell, I'd still be interested, the prospect of paying over-inflated prices here for new ones is seriously annoying me. Already done that for my eldest.

I`m sorry you think that is over-inflated prices. My own copy of the thesaurus was brought with me from UK in 1995 and is priced at £6.99 The others are locally supplied and both work out at less than £10 each - £7.60 and £9.56. We sell second-hand books but they are not the sort of books that come in second-hand.

Hi,

I wasn't referring to your dictionaries in particualr but making a general observation. For me to comment without having seen the books would of course be unfair.

I was simply looking on amazon and found the dictionaries as well as the turkish to english at no more then £3 to £4's each, hence the general observation.

Goonerboy, did you try Denizplaza in Girne or North Nicosia? I found huge, medium, small and very small dictionaries there (even Dutch-Turkish and Turkish-Dutch). I found the prices very reasonable.

Hi, thanks for the link, unfortunately I need physical editions.

I've picked up a Turkish to English, now require the other two.

Dutch, I have tried Denizplaza, but the edition they have is for foreign students as opposed to being for people whose 1st language is English, plus they have large hardbacks.

I really need small, ideally pocket editions of both.

deniz plaza can order these for you, and the prices are quite cheap. I have just ordered lots of primary dictionaries, primary thesaurus's and picture dictionaries from them. Should be arriving next week.

Hi,

I've tried calling several times to no avail.

Can you please reserve the copy of Collins Gem a-z Thesaurus for me, and I'll pick up either today or tomorrow.

What are your opening times, and where abouts are you located?

Thanks
