Went twice in July, food was nice, service was good but it was quiet on both occasions. A bit expensive compared to other restaurants but it is the only Thai restaurant there so guess they have a niche market.

Ditto about price

now this is going to sound odd, but I liked it at the time but I didn't aftertwards. !! I chose the better meal wheras my husband and friends we wentwith found their meals was really really really salty too much so!

I don't think all in all I woudl return but then I think it is down to personal taste, having said that the pudding was to die for !!

Excellent

Recommend the Banquet good value and a tasty way of experiencing a wider range of Thai food

Some good beers on offer as well

Des had Pedigree and a tasty cider offering last time I was there

been 3 times. expensive for for is available and what you HAVE to order - minimum value of meal. as long as you pass a 'carry out place ' on way hame - should be ok.

Food very nice but not a lot per portion.

Never been because I like plain food and they only do Thai.

This means that if a group of say six want to go out and one is a fussy eater like me then we go somewhere else.

If they did a plain fillet steak with a few chips then we would probably go as a group, with 5 eating Thai.

CJtill - forget it. 4 people ask for noodles - share 2 small bowls. rice etc. the same. you want steak - they dont do chips either. nice, friendly, expensive and still hungry.

BTW - 3 times was cos out with friends who love it so !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've tried different Thai around the world and obviously Thailand was the best followed by London and Belfast . the food they serve is cooked by an English chef unless that's changed from the last time we went . it was overpriced, under portioned and to be honest i can do better myself . we wont go back

It was nice when it was 'Both Worlds' in Catalkoy but don't know what happened when they built and opened 'Both Worlds'. We looked forward to the restaurant opening for months and then were so disappointed. Not enough food. Hungry when we left. Only went twice when it first opened though so really can't comment on recent times.

We won't be going back. Not "proper" Thai food but cooked to their ideas of what's nice in Thai cooking, very expensive as you need to order so much to get a decent feed. Do yourselves a favour and save your money!

I'm very seldom moved to post on Cyprus 44 but having read the comments above I feel in the interests of fairness I have to. I'm qualified to post my comments as a customer of Bo Thai and before that Both Worlds for many years as a permanent resident of the TRNC and also a visitor to Thailand on several occasions.

1) Small Portions/minimum price : When Bo Thai first opened they tried a different approach in offering portions between starter and main course size, priced accordingly. This was to encourage diners to try a selection of different foods and yes there was a minimum price - its not a snack bar! Several smaller dishes suited me but the concept seemed beyond most of the customers and so was dropped. The menu now, and has been for a long time traditional i.e. starters, main courses and sweets. This totally contrary to the Thai way of eating where there are no different courses and they eat when they are hungry. To my taste the portion sizes are now more than adequate.

2) They have no Thai chef. Untrue the chef is Thai and the owners English/Irish.

3) It's expensive. It's not the cheapest of restaurants but it is not the most expensive either. The drinks prices are very reasonable.

4) The food is poor. Not my experience but everyone has different tastes. "True Thai food" is mainly mind blowingly hot broths - very boring after a while.

Restaurants fortunes can be ruined by inaccurate comments on forums such as this. All I ask is please make sure that comments accurate and up to date.

I have said it before and will say it again. Restaurant threads are normally a waste of space, eating out is so subjective. It depends on the time of day you visit, how many customers are there, your appetite, your own taste, your budget, even what time of year you visit!

What is one mans meat Etc. Generally most of the eating establishments in the TRNC are so inconsistant, you can go one night the service is good, the food hot and plentyful, go the next week and its awful.

We have stopped recommending places now, just not worth it.

I went once with my wife and two children, his face was up his arse when he saw the boy's, he didn't want us there at all because we had the kids, he ignored us most of the time in favour of speaking to his friends at the bar, If it wasn't so late we would have looked elsewhere, and the icing on the cake was no Thai food, I don't know what it was but was a million miles from Thai food, and not very good at all, first and last time I set foot in the place, don't go if you have children, it's not what they want.

To everyone out there

please, please go to Bo Thai and make your own minds up !!!!

David and I love it there, the setting is beautiful and very clean, Des and Lynn are lovely people and the attention to detail is excellent.

The food is lovely, well presented and plenty of it for normal healthy eating people. The tastes and flavours of Thailand are well balanced and its a good menu. Its a very pleasant refreshing dining experience.

TRY IT !

message 14.

you say ( "True Thai food" is mainly mind blowingly hot broths ) incorrect,True thai food is a multi fusion of exotic flavours,if you like it spicy or very spicey or extreamly hot, just ask and it would be cooked to your palate, well in thailand and manchester and london anyway.!

As for bow thai restaurant, the place is very beautiful inside, decor, furniture, ect ect,the flooring in there is wonderful.

Every 1s taste is diffrent, people need to make up there own mind,as message 22 says.

Have been a few times to the Bo Thai and we find the food really nice, we normally opt for a chicken green curry and a beef red curry and they are sooo good. Have also been to Thailand many times, ok, the food is probably not authentic here but it's not a bad second at the Bo Thai. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Okay, so it's not the cheapest restaurant out there, but it's definitely not the dearest either. IMO the drinks prices are reasonable as well.

I have had the "feast" option on several occasions. This comprises of a soup, Then I think 2 half portions of starter & then slightly smaller portions of 3 main courses. You can have rice or noodles & if you ask a mixture of both. Then a sweet & finally coffee & brandy. I think this is 32 TL, but maybe 35 TL. I have never yet been able to finish it yet, & we usually bring some main course & noodles/rice home. Some of you out there must have very big appetites, if that is not enough.

IMO that is not expensive for what you get.
