Hi, can anyone give me advice please re leather furniture in TRNC climate? We were over at Easter and several furniture shops advised that we should not buy leather as it will stick to our skin in the heat! Turned out that several of these shops were trying to sell synthetic leather, passing it off as real leather. Only when I asked for the colour swatch did I realise and when I said I wanted real leather the price tripled, from @ £1000 to £3500!

I want cream sofa like we have at home as it is easy to clean if the kids spill anything.. not sure I trust the stain resistant covers. I read an old article from Observer mentioning an estate agent said he had bought furniture from Ikea in the South... is that still a possibility? Appreciate some guidance!

Dont get leather,it's too cold in the winter and you get wet through in the summer.Do not buy the synthetic stuff,it falls to bits as soon you sit on it.

We have leather and with throws it's fine summer and winter. Cyprus is a very dusty country and leather can be wiped down. We initially had cream fabric suite that lasted not very long before becoming dusty and grimey.

The leather has worn well and looks as good as the day we got it. Make sure it's not synthetic leather though. We got ours from Olguns and are very pleased with the quality and the price we paid.

We have leather, it is a bit sticky in summer, but you can clean it. Your outside most of the summer anyway.

Things here get so dusty all the time, you need to be able to clean what ever you buy. Leather is the best choice.

We have leather sofas and with 3 boys they are great, Sure you may stick to them if you not got a top on but other than that they are great. For the winter weather we have covers we put on the seating area.

i had a leather suite....too hot n sweaty in the summer ,recently got it covered by Botanica. Maybe have leather arms with removable cloth cushions.Botanica make sofas to your spec and can cover in spill proof materials .Very good value for money .Good luck
