once we had got all the documents..............time was the most expensive.....but not for us a very very good cypriot friend did it for nothinig he went back and forth to tapu in Lefkosa and Girne lots of times. (He said that he was sickened about the way that Foreigners were treated by this ----------country). When he had finally finnished doing this and it took him almost 2 years. We went with him to the Office and I signed for the final approval....cost us about 20 tl for that. You have to pay a noter for a letter that asks for the property to be put onto the land deeds, and a couple of copies...........then copies of everything else just in case they get lost. A very frustrating process...... I understand that you can pay for someone to do this and various figures we have heard have been £350 to £1000...........but the cost for us was an occasional Roast beef dinner and Yorkshire puds, or Roast chicken with home made stuffing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck Sue

Unfortunately our friend has had to go back to Uk he cannot earn enough here to support himself and his wife...... Tapu is the land registry office there are 2 places....1 is in the law courts building downstairs at the side of the satirs, then up the stairs and above the lower one. The other Office is up the road past the Hospital in the large building. They are extremely helpful and would push you in the right directions....... If we had done it it woyuld have gone on for ever. Our friend being a local spoke the lingo. The time is the usual excuse its "Cyprus time"..... everything is Yavas Yavas (slowly slowly).... SUE

We were very fortunate to meet someone (a local Turkish Cypriot) who was able to sort out all our deeds and he too was shocked at how long it took him who knew the language and thought that the expats are treated very poorly especially in this area. I know that he is helping out friends of ours at the moment. If you want any more information just post it here as our email address has a MAJOR problem.

paid the 92.5 TL in september 2009.Some very good UK based Tc friends made enquiries earlier this year, but appears the files are gathering dust in Nicosia. Why on earth does it have to take so long? Silly me! Money,Money,Money, makes the world go around!

hi bufferington, paid it to the builder of the villa, ours was a resale and have had the kocan in our names but wanted the villa put on. As we don't live in NC, just holiday, thought if we let someone else do the measurement, architect drawings that the builder has , and running around that goes with this application. It is said that by using the original builder of the properties it does help.... we will see.....
