I have been reading this forum for a very long time, but up until now, i have never had a reason to post..but....

The lovely Daisy Dukes came to take a look at my garden, and to clean it up, and i can honestly say with my hand on my heart, what an absolutely fantastic good she did!! I can actually see what i have now. I really don't know how she did it in this heat, but she did, and very diligently!

Well done Daisy, and thank you so very much, my wife can't wait to go shopping for the plants you have recommended

I will 2nd that as Sam has just done a garden clearance at my friends house in Alsancak and really surprised me when I went to look the next day, she had not only cleared all the weeds away, but had also pruned bushes etc, which I didn't expect. Well done Sam I hope this thread gets you up and running you deserve it.

Thanks so much guys!!

Gary, i must admit i was a little daunted at the size of it, but once i got stuck in, the day just flew past, and the shephards pie at lunchtime was probably the best i have ever had!!

Steve, thank you for the vote of confidence, i suppose it helps to actually really enjoy what you're doing!

If anyone else would like me to come and take a look at their garden, please get touch.

Spider, so sorry hun, but i don't think he can change his name now, he would have to make another identity, and that is not allowed. But feel free to call him whatever you like, i'm sure he wont mind

Thanks Lilli....i really do think you're right! I have done some really big gardens, and once or twice thought i may have bitten off more than i can chew, but it's shocking how, once i get stuck in, it all comes together....and the feeling of satisfaction once it's all done, is second to non...i totally love it....and i sleep like a baby at night because i'm so exhausted!! Wonderful feeling!!

As for losing so much weight....best you invite me round to fatten me up xx

Hey Daisy my friend Roy is well pleased with the garden , he sends his best regards and would like a "tidy" up every month , if you can fit him in . He said you were a " kind and considerate lady " !! ( he must have been on something ) LOL Anyway he may have another job for you as one of his neighbours was impressed , so watch this space .

Hey DD - is this how you got your tennis elbow (recent thread) ? Doing all this great gardening?? Take it easy or you might end up with irreparable damage to the joint & ligaments.

Thanks so much Graycoul...it took all day, but the final appearance was absolutely well worth it!! It's such a pleasure to see a garden all cleaned up and green, as opposed to brown and scruffy!

Don't forget folks...now that the weather is cooling, and rain is coming, the weeds will become rampant, so it's best to start clearing it all up now, before it gets completely out of hand!!

Spider, Spidey (Gary) Is doing just fine, and says hello!

AJ...i'm not sure popular is a word i would use, but i do work hard, and thoroughly enjoy what it too.

Thing to think of now everyone, is that now the temps are cooling, and the rains are coming, it's time to start a weeding and pruning regime as, before you know it, your garden will be resembling a mini jungle!! Please call me to help you along with this!

ps, i am also very good with dogs, so no need to worry about me with them!

I am an absent owner looking for a gardener/someone to water my houseplants. Is this a service you would offer Daisy? What is the name of your company? and I have to ask if you have a work permit, I am not sure if it is the case here but if I am caught employing illegal workers I will receive a fine in the UK.

Hi Daisy,

I have the same query as mistress, but my villa is in Esentepe.

Do you offer this service, and if so, could you offer it in Esentepe?

Mistress...how can you receive a fine in the UK?

Rottolover, i'm afraid Esentepe is rather too far for me to travel...so sorry.

Daisy

I am aware that I will not receive a fine in the UK but will I receive a fine in North Cyprus if I am found to be employing illegal labour? We have been warned on our site about this by the tax office, this is why I ask. If you have a work permit or company this will not be an issue, maybe it is not an issue - it appears not from the many postings on here offering casual services for cash to the British community. As you know I am trying to set up a business here, I may as well advertise my services on here as others do rather than jump through hoops and pay large set up fees - what do you say?

All the ladies I know that do regular home cleaning have no work permits but who cares. I can assure you that nobody bothers with such things. It would be another bowl of fish if you employed somebody full time. With part time work, its the responsibiliy of the worker to get a work permit and the rest of us simply turn a blind eye to the issue. I would not bother too much about it. Good luck DD.

Thank you for your clarification Ismet, so it is OK to be an illegal worker and OK to employ one.

Is this a genuine misunderstanding? I doubt it.

Mistress: "so it is OK to be an illegal worker", see what I wrote: "With part time work, its the responsibiliy of the worker to get a work permit". I ask you, does it mean the same thing? If you wish to misrepresent what I write, go ahead, no problem but it seems to me that your original question was not genuine anyway. I think you wanted to frighten people so as not to employ this lady even for part time work. It is up to her to weigh the risks and the gains and decide accordingly.

I think mistress is just someone that is jealous of somebody trying to make a go of something, and make a little pocket money, and she has no house plants that need watering. Another person taking over a genuine thread.
