I am afraid to say that the puppy is Charlie. He was the last to be rehomed last Saturday and at the time we were a bit apprenhensive. Unfortunately I have been proved right. It appears Charlie was given to a 'neighbour' to look after two days ago. Obviously not looked after very well! He is now back with us and looking for another good and responsible owner who will take more care of him. Lucy was a bit surprised to see him! Thank you Dutch Crusader for alerting us to this problem. Sylvia and Peter

Typo: hin = him (HIM, because the breaking news is that "Charlie" - witnesses available... - is a male dog! Sorry for the confusion in another thread - DC).

msg 10

The mother is a pointer possibly crossed with a labrador...no one knows for sure, but most of the pups look very labrador like....

Charlie is particularly labrador looking, and so very pretty....

He looks tall, Dutch, for 8 weeks. What do you estimate he is to the withers?

Molly I have one of his sisters and she is a tiny little thing, the vet thinks she will be about a pointer size though...just like her mum.

Unfortunately, due to a time waster who said earlier today that they definitely wanted Charlie and then said this evening that ' he wouldn't fit into their life style' (whatever that means), he is still looking for a good home. He is a dear little chap but there is no way that we can keep 3 of Lucy's puppies. We are practically at breaking point now after two months of bringing up 12 pups. Therefore, can I make a plea for someone to take him and give him a good home, one where he is not turned out onto the street. Phone us on 0533 888 74 53 or 54 if you can help us.

Hi all. I'm the "time waster." Sylvia, what I said is that after careful consideration it was determined that Charlie would not be suitable for our family. I have rescued my whole life. Most recently two dogs from the Balkans and 3 weeks ago I took in a runt and bottled fed it (while in the middle of a move) who will remain with my family forever. I will not permit you to gossip and mislead. When I spoke to you I was sincerely apologetic and acknowledged the frustration you must be feeling. You said it was fine and that you understood. Clearly you did not mean that. Because I take an animal in for life I take rescuing and adopting very seriously. I DO NOT appreciate what you are insinuating. You should phone me direct if you have any thing else to say, after all you told me you understood.

I think all on this forum who know Peter and myself will know just how we are feeling at the moment, totally exhausted. We have done our best by Lucy and her puppies, after all we didnt have to take her in and we certainly didn't have to keep her when we found out she was pregnant. However, we too are caring and compassionate people and therefore have done our best. Once again, perhaps I could ask anyone who would be willing to take Charlie to get in touch with us.

Peter and Sylvia, we did the same thing a few years ago when we discovered the bitch we'd rescued was pregnant - only seven puppies though! It was a huge disruption to our lives but worth it in the end, and we, with the help of friends, homed the pups, bar one which we kept. A month or so later one of the pups was abandoned and came back to us. We were upset at the time, but found him another new home - again with the help of friends- fairly quickly. I think what I'm trying to say is that everyone realises what a superb job you've done, and don't let this last hurdle depress you too much. Incidentally I think I saw Peter at Lambousa - I was the person who said I'd love a pup but had six already - five of them rescues.

Unfortunately not, he still seeking a new home and will go 'on tour' tomorrow at Lambousa if no one comes forward to offer a good home. As you will see from his photo that Dutch Crusader posted he is an attractive little creature and full of spirit.

Artistabroad,

there is no need to call the poor animal a bitch just because she was put in a club by some randy GR like dog. Is there? Otherwise what are we going to call Oracle when she keeps making the same mistake every six months?
