YES YES YES in my opinion. I feel for us who do not live here permanently as we have a winter of discontent to cope with as the unions will feel they can do what they want ow. Read Ed..OMG

As far as I can see, they went head to head in a 'democratic' election for the post of leader. They all knew the rules and voting allocations, as no one has complained of unfair practices, one can only assume that all was above board. Ed beat his brother by a narrow margin, so why has he 'stabbed him in the back' ? Paul

the clue that gives it away about the party's link to the Unions is in the word "Labour". Apparently I support the Tories BTW, Lib Dem in other words. Never again!

David M was the leader in waiting and his younger and less experienced brother should not have challengened him...IMO he has stabbed his elder brother in the back.

In A democratic vote anyone can stand, it is not his fault that they have an unusual and complicated voting process.

agree with you on this deecyprus4, Ed has given/told us Tories just what we had thought about the Labour, say one thing and mean another, and Ed M has even done this to his brother! How on earth can any one ever trust a man like this, pos worse than Blair for being deceitful, nice one Ed.... Stab his own for a few mins glory, now wait and see big brother hoist him out gradually, .....

It doesn't really matter to me because it will be years before the Labour government get in again so the party leader is immaterial, besides most politicians of all parties are out for their own ends.

Who cares?.. was my first thought.. Saw him interviewed on Newsnight by J Paxmam - came over as OK.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00v3c0g/Newsnight_29_09_2010/ I think his bro knows that right now he brings a 'past' - Iraq - with him... David will be back.. Right now I'm more interested in what the govt will do.. not the Labour Party's personality 'issues'

mmmmmmmm, very true, but isn't it interesting that some one who maybe wants to challenge for the leadership at a later date of this country can turn on his own brother? that's what has made the news really, not anything to do whether he is any good etc. ....He has blotted his copy book!! Never to be trusted..... Sell his grandmother for sweeties....

Hi Dizzy, they fought a campaign and one of 'em had to lose.. I don't see David ( or anyone ) coming back to challenge him unless Labour do badly at polls - they may even be ahead already !

My old man used to say "You know you are getting old when policemen look young". I must be getting ancient now that politicians look like boys (and girls)! Why is it that they all emerge crying out that things must change, but they never do?

I feel sorry for the parents, they must have felt very proud of their two sons, but this will no doubt tear the family up... No ifs, no buts, it will....
