I may have been caught by a speed camera exceeding the speed limit 65 doing 75. Where do you go to enquire if you are guilty,is it the local police station?

Give them a while then go over a crossing. They will have it on the computer.

Yes go to the police station with your log book. I am not sure if the local small police stations will have the information but Girne police station will. It depends where you were when you were speeding.

Have any of these hundreds of TRNC speed cameras ever been re-calibrated, according to EU rules, since initial installation? The RoC flouted those rules and an EU directive banned their use in the South - but I don't know for how long, or even if they are 'up and running' again there.

It's a distinct possibility that some TRNC speed cameras may now be 'kaput' if they've never been checked/serviced, but only the authorities and possibly the taxi drivers will know which ones. Still, it's not worth taking the chance of speeding through them!

The office, in the police station, is next to the one where we all queue for hours to, annually, [how ridiculous!]present our documents for temporary residency.

Take all relevant vehicle documents to be 'on the safe side' - you never know when they might 'change the goalposts', as with so many other things!

We normally just pop to the police station in Girne, just inside the door on the right is a little reception desk, we hand a bit of paper with our car registration number on and they check on the computer......luckily, so far, no speeding fines. Prefer to do this rather than wait til we are leaving the country and then find out, so we usually check just before we leave.
