Best to buy a new one I think, they do not last that long here.

Just go and buy one. If you can't afford a kettle you should not be here.,

John, Thank you so much for that, but let me try the place by the new harbour first and I will get back to you.

Kind Regards

In the three years we have been here we are now on kettle #8! From the very cheap to the quite expensive. Between the water quality and the iffy voltages they don't last long.

If you have a gas cooker you can't beat a whistling kettle on the gas ring - then you can have a nice cuppa when the power goes off!

Try Lambousa market on Saturdays, lots of bargains on small electrical home appliances on there. And very cheap. Better off with good quality and cheap!

If you boil some lemon slices in the kettle and leave for a few hours or overnight it makes a great natural descaler, and your kettle (gas or electric ) will last much longer. We are only on our second electric kettle in 4 years and that was because of a faulty lid.

Its cheap and harmless too.
