Will the new property body have power?

The HBPG threatened a protest and

the gov set up a new body called the Property Complaints Office.

It failed because it had no teeth despite the best efforts of its staff.



K5 are to hold a vigil and

the gov set up a new body



The question will be....

(1) does it have the power to direct the courts

(2) Does it have money, eg to rescue people hurt by bankrupt builders.

Natalie, nothing appearing in forums so far says if the new body will have teeth, power or money.



I hope it does, but we need to know this, then we'll know if it is good news....

I think the committee should have a clear mandate and TEETH.



It should have experienced independent, international input.



It should ensure that those that should be punished for fraud or other criminal activities are.



If it meets the above, it should be welcomed as a great leap forward.

K5's application to the ECHR claims off Turkey. Turkey will not want to stand accused for the nasty actions by the banks etc., so it may well intervene, with power and money.
