I think it cost us 100Tl the last time... the MOT station is behind the police station in Girne and is reached by turning left at the Kombos Autos Mercedes showroom on the main road heading west from the Lefkosa - Girne roundabout.

You have to go to the new Tax Office behind the hospital in Girnie first to pay the fee

You will also need emission tests.

The easiest route to the tax office is turn down the road opposite Molly's Cafe (near the Pia Bella hotel) down to the end and turn left minding out for the handily placed pole in the road.

All they seem interested in... is your car clean? are the number plates in place and free from defect? and does the engine number match the car's log book?

If you have tow-ball fitted that might need to be removed depending on how they feel at the time.

What about the mud flaps?

The inspector told me I needed them. I said I'm not drilling holes in my car. He said OK, next time!

We needed mud flaps yesterday.

Erdener did the emissions test first.
