So, for the TC's and the 'Talks', it seems that they are faced with two choices - throw their lot in with their former GC masters, or be assimilated into an increasingly narrow minded dictatorship.

I wonder which they will consider the lesser of the two evils?

But, then again, it won't be their choice to make.

The comments at the end of the article put my thoughts on this matter more eloquently than I could ever hope to. They would have us back in the dark ages if they could!

I think Facebook should be banned everywhere.

Creates many probs for many people by all accounts.

RE msg 10, Geoff: (...) I think Facebook should be banned everywhere. Creates many probs for many people by all accounts. (...)

=> Geoff, you have the right to think the above. But may I ask WHY you think it?

the

'by all accounts'

indicates he has not used it and is therefore going with the flow of publicity rather than knowledge.

I use facebook to keep in touch with Friends and Family across the globe. I often have conversations with a niece in Eqypt and one in Canada. i also get to see photos of them and their children and find out what they are doing with their lives. My own children post their skiing holiday photos on there so I get to see them too.

I have been able to download these and add them to my albums.

I love Facebook as it has brought so many wonderful people back into my life. I carelessly lost them through globe trotting. FB is like anything - one uses it for one's own purposes, and don't let it use you. ~Give what information you don't mind being known, and keep the rest to oneself.

Take that away, and I have immediatley lost about 100 'old' friends I have recently found.

What about my human rights??????????????????

I agree with Hildysmith & Maz facebook is excellent for keeping in touch with friends old and new.

I have found family I lost touch with over forty years ago and it has been wonderful sharing old family pictures and helped no end with compiling my family tree.

Great way to keep track of your children too.

Used sensibly it is all good.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but please don't knock it till youve tried it.

It's a great daily check on what the family and friends are doing in the world.

FB has been an amazing link to our youngest son while he has been on his second tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Thankfully he will be out of there this week sometime.

They can ban it but cant actually enforce the ban because all you have to do if a site is blocked or banned in your country, is go onto a proxy server site and load it thru there. Simple !!
