when flying from and eec country to an eec country there are no duty free allowances. If you go into the airport and purchase "duty free" then you have to produce the boarding pass, you will not get it duty free. on the flights from uk to larnaca as far as I am aware there is no duty free!!!! but I will be corrected if I am wrong...........Sue

What advantage would their be in buying in Manchester? The price will be no different to UK shops. There is a shop in arrivals at Larnaca, It sells most brands. I am afraid I don't know how many EU cigarettes (either UK or ROC ) that you are allowed to bring into TRNC.

Can you buy duty free on arrivals as well as on departures? My husband was going to buy at Manchester and take to Larnaca as we thought you could only buy on departures.

Thanks

you can buy on arrival Vic but I'm not sure if the shops are open 24 hours. I don't know how many you can bring to the TRNC but as they are duty paid I cant see why you cant bring some.Hawkeye you are correct duty free was phased out to make way for duty paid for EU countries. I think the allowance from LCA to UK is 3000 cigs

Myfair are sold in north, but you wll need to look around to find wherefrom. My daughter smokes them when she comes over she gets some from somewhere in girne. I just came to uk for a week, flew from ercan and brought her a 1000 cost £1.76 p/packet at ercan.
