Apologies to all who already know about Byki, but I have only recently been let into the secret by a friend. If you download http://www.byki.com and click on Turkish, you get a really good starter language course which is based on a series of flip cards and has an audio element. I am finding it very useful, but do not know how widespread knowledge of the course is.

Thanks, 'sloan'!

Tips like this are extremely useful - it certainly pays to learn some Turkish in TRNC, even though, when it comes down to MONEY, they can nearly all speak English!

Hi Sloan

Will look at your suggestion as learning turkish at moment.

I am using livemocha and finding it very useful. 10 units with about 5 lessons per unit plus tests and flashcards. Its interactive so you can get help from native speakers.

Wow, Dave12 ... another really good course. There is some amazing free stuff on the net these days. I have the time, now just need to make the commitment to sit down and learn a bit each day.
