In one of the narrow streets of the UN Buffer Zone in walled Nicosia we found the wreckage of a car, left behind when the owner was in an understandable hurry to leave the war zone. Now covered by dead weeds the car tells a sad story, not forgotten yet...

RE msg 4, apc2010: My friend Bo de Visser (Holland) holds the copyright and I'm not sure at this moment what his plans are - I'll ask him about it. A problem may be that the pictures are in raw camera format, which means that every picture is 12,5 - 15 Mb! To show them on a computer screen the pics have to be scaled down, including other software preparations. This will take quite some time, but I'll see what I can do.

RE msg 6, apc2010: No, not all of them yet. Some photographs have to be grouped together in special photobooks. We'll make our picks when he's back. I'll let you know here when everything is ready.

If it is still available to access there use to be a historic room at the UN Hq which has lots of pictures just like these, but less weeds on them as the pictures were taken in the early 1980's. Plus lots of other information about the invertention by Turkey.
