We had a two week holiday as soon as our apartment was finished. The builder told us to use this time to identify/do any snagging and see if everything was ok. It was so we then sent final payment when we arrived home. During our stay the builder sent a workman to help put up all the mirrors, pictures and curtain rails in every room. It was also handed over spotless, no clean was neeeded and the fridge was left with a welcome pack. There are some builders who can get it right and do know how to run a successful business and offer a professional and high standard service.I feel very lucky Maintenance payments didn't actually begin until after we had possession. Didn't go onto builders electric either. So happy to say everthing went smoothly. Just hope the pdp and title deeds don't present any problems.

Hi Pipie, we have had 1 snagging visit and will pay after final inspection. Waiting for go ahead from builder to fly over - cant wait! No maintenance paid/requested yet. Havent seen spec from maintenance company on exactly what will be done and frequency - wont pay till that is very clear. wysiwyg

Hi Pipie We paid our final balance and then had someone go in and take possession and do snagging for us. We started paying maintenance (I think) as soon as we took possession but then we went and physically stayed in our apartment two months after that and were happy with everything. Only very few snagging problems - although have one now which we hope will be rectified at some point but its not particularly urgent. We have been told we have two years to complete all snagging in our apartment. Have you taken possession of yours now? Have a nice weekend Nicky

1. Luckily apartment was complete before we made payment. 2. Didn't pay until we took posession. Whilst many will breath a sigh of relief at that point (ignoring PTP etc) another 'issue' about maintenance is who will, or will continue, to pay. Another stress we are encountering. Martin

Messege 5 if you have a good developer and they follow correct procedures .Developer will put in place a reputable company that have the ability to run the site for a year . You should be asked for maintenence monies when you are satisfied all on complex is ok , please double check this as sometimes this is not the case .

Pipie Joke is the builders family including his wife live in the apartments. They can't get everyone to pay. One family living there full time owe 3 years worth (still happy to use swimming pool of course). The builder is now in process of issuing Kocans so that might make a difference. Martin

Pipie you have started numerous threads and gone in on other peoples threads on this subject so many times, and you have just about exausted every avenue, but once again let me say as i said before and as my fav person (:( ) BHW says - We started paying maintenance over 12 months ago on our complex and it is still not finished but if we had all dugin our heels and not payed we would have nothing like what we have got now, it is coming on, however we have had to suffer a lot. BHW did plenty shouting on our board in the past about the problems, unlike her message 4, which is a complete about turn, in fact there are still many problems, plumbing leaks, electrical problems, dug up communal areas, things in apartments not working, we even still have a builders encampment right in the middle of the site, sommat you obviously missed when you toured round our complex with your rose tinted spectacles We bought in an under developed country at cheap prices, and as such we have no divine right to expect perfection or even near perfection, we have been for the most part pleased with our purchase and we got our fingers out of our ar**s and got on with it and paid our dues otherwise our complex would still be a tip, if youre trying to stir things prehaps you should go home to great england and leave those of us who are happy here to get on with our lives, the few mindless people like you have little more to do than sit at your puters every day hammering out your jibes, if you REALLY had problems like the Amaranta valley owners and others who have "REAL" problems then people might have some sympathy with you. I have for the past 18 months been keeping a record of many posts for research purposes, and threads both on here /TBV (even some that were subsequently deleted by their authors) / and on the TRNC villa owners board and its predecessor's,and have been compiling them and a definite pattern has emerged.

Hi Spud and others, pipie has got this thing about me having three guises, guess she has got so many things wrong lately and this is just another in the long line, we know where she is trying to go but she is trying to be too clever, ask her where lush lips has disappeared to (oh dear I forgot to post lately) Lazy days ? I have checked out the posts made by this person, they seem pretty innocuous, apart from apparently backing Ishmail on one of his posts but I noticed just now that she rebuked him as well, check them out for yourselves ! pipie you obviously have aproblem but you always seem to dodge round the edge of it, why not put everyone out of there misery and tell us. The majority of people on these boards come on to seek advice from those more knowledgable on local affairs, but pipie comes into threads just for the hell of it, check out the hammerite paint thread "def cant get it in north" just one of many ill informed posts I could cite. When people see friends and colleagues being attacked by continuous inuendo it cannot be allowed to go unchecked, but only cowards choose to do it in this way.

My lovely friend Punk Rocker Pipie asked for personal experiences - we had only a few snag issues, we paid our final balance and someone took possession for us - now why do you have a problem with that!! I am sorry if you have had problems and others have too. All of these come under snagging which the builders guarantee 2 years to complete, unless of course they are urgent. I know one of your friend's recently had a problem and before we left they were digging out the walls. I know it took him a few weeks to get it done but like you say that's Cyprus standards and we have to appreciate they dont work at the same speed as the UK. Still stand by what I say - why should we be paying maintenance for anyone to use our equipment (that's my only gripe oh and plus having to pay £200 for water - what else am I not happy about? - maybe the constant moaning on the forum by others - its quite depressing when all you hear is our site being put down - that must upset you too especially as you live there. I do not have any other issues as we have been happy with our place and the speed at which are progressing. Look at some other sites in TRNC. Have a good day Punk Rocker

BHW, Are you the TBV admin account holder? Hope so,I emailed you to see if we Thalassa owners could get in touch with you or get some info from you or even post on http://www.thalassaowners.com as we have had someone from your forum post and we need to know the pitfalls to avoid some of the problems turtle bay buyers have found. If you're not can anyone shed light on how to get in touch with the TB forum person. cheers stu

So now you are happy with youre purchase , but i am not allowed to say Turtle bay looks good , ''crikey ''make youre flipping mind up . We could go round in circles here Punk rocker but if you stand by attacking someone who has just commented as i have done then i will leave you to throw your'e toys out of your'e pram . |

We had someone go in and do the snagging for us, and the builders got it all sorted. Then shortly after we went for our first visit, and the following morning the buuilders sent someone round to see how we were and if everything was ok. There were one or two small things which we told her about and she got them sorted. Also gave us half a tin on paint so we could touch up the few marks on the wall from where the furniture had been moved in. We started paying maintenance once we had the keys.

Pipie do I take that as an apology ?? our place is really starting to come along and we all know there are still issues but you were trying to get at something else, do you not own on Turquoise ? your original question was did we start paying maintenance before the place was complete, yes of course we did and it's still not complete, we paid a lot of money and in fact we paid a years fees in advance, this is probably how the place is now starting to look good. If you aren't happy don't take possession, but your place is really starting to take shape now as well, trees planted, grass and landscaping started, good luck to you
