We are just back from the Mambo Bar where they are currently doing a 2 for 1 deal on lunches.

We didn't know what to expect, as two lunches for 15 ytl seems to good to be true.

The menu was fairly varied and the portions were very generous, the drinks were reasonably priced as well.

Two lunches and four drinks for under 30 ytl, I can't see anyone beating that for value.

Damn right too!! If you take into consideration, time, energy, electric, gas and all the ingredients, you honestly couldn't do it better if you did it yourself at home!!

Havn't had one of these meals yet but have seen them, looking good. Especially the liver and bacon.

Mambo bar are doing their best and are on the right track. The kitchen could be tweaked a little, even at the prices charged. 4TL draught beer, par for the course but 'bums on seats' is what matters. Smaller profits but greater 'turnover' generates an end of year net gain!

Yes good on them, and if you happen to ask the price of a bottle of wine, your not insulted by the owner/chef.

Your probably the best man to answer your own question. Maybe you were trying to discourage 'council house trash' (as you put it) from frequenting your restaurant and moving on elsewhere.

But, not to distract from the original thread, the Mambo seem to have cracked it and 'bums on seats' over the winter season months, is what will keep places from going under.

free food will always fill the place but how long it will last depend on your bank balance.minimum cost of any meal is 5.5tl without elec rent do the mat yourself.

The food is not free and it is excellent value for money. They are already paying for the rent and electricity, and you have to assume they have done their sums.

They are bringing in customers who are buying drinks with their meals and increasing their turnover and good luck to them.
