Message 3 - yes, he may well regret it, but think how rich he'll be WHILE he's regretting it. Obscene amount of money.

Bill - yes, totally agree.

He is doing exactly what his agent tells him to do!

Do you honestly think he came up with this idea for a 5 year contract + a pay rise?

His agent is playing him like the puppet he is....

Rooney is a fully paid up member of L.O.N.A.H.

European football clubs do not tolerate indiscipline and bad behaviour in their players.

So which Super Club was seriously going to make a bid for him ?

Answer--- None of them.

Can only hope Fergie gets a hold of him in the dressing room and teaches him some manners Glasgow style, he will have the snivelling we git on the ground begging for mercy before he gives him the final kick in the balls and stamp down

Wayne Rooney's new contract at Manchester United has made him the highest-paid footballer in the world, according to newspaper reports.

The Sun and the Daily Mirror both report that the striker's new deal is worth £250,000 a week including bonuses and image rights - equivalent to £65 million over five years.

Rooney, who turns 25 on Sunday, now earns over £30,000 a week more than former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid, the next best-paid player in the world, .

And though fans pilloried Rooney when they thought he was leaving Old Trafford, it seems that the affair has brought an unexpected windfall for United boss Alex Ferguson.

The Daily Star reports that the crucial factor clinching the deal was not Rooney's wages, but a promise elicited from the Glazer family to make £60m available to Ferguson to spend in the transfer market between now and the start of next season.
