mr Ergolu flies to Germany tomorrow to hold talks with The German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle. One of the things on the agenda is the isolation of the TCs, lets hope its the first of many with world powers that van listen and understand the only administration should not be the ROC

Guido Westerwelle, Germany’s foreign minister, is also a strong supporter of Turkey’s EU membership,

The biggest immigrant population in Germany is Turkish, following the skills exchange programme of the 60s. All these immigrants have a vote, and therefore a voice. Recently Germany has been against Turkey joining the EU, but no politician with any sense of self-preservation in Germany would want to be described as anti-Turkish.

german chancellor held talks with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in which the two leaders pledged to do more to improve the often poor integration record of Germany's estimated 2.5 million-strong Turkish community.

It still amazes me that the TRNC should be singled out for the cold shoulder over direct trade and flights, when as the occupying force surely TURKEY ought to first on the list for sanctions.... no?

Oh yeah, that's because the Western World knows a good market when it sees it and it's much easier to justify maltreatment of a relatively small number... on purely economic grounds that is.... The UK such high principles!

Principle one, wealth - principle two, money - principle three market for UK goods.... nothing talks like money talks so it would seem.

Saints preserve us from the principled!
